We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Technical Program/Project Manager within our OptumCare Technology division. As an industry leading health and technology organization, it is imperative that we fully leverage modern technology and practices to maximize success. You will work with the best and the brightest partnering with technology and business leaders and teams who are working to meet the dynamic needs of the national and local health care markets. In this role, you will be responsible for driving end to end technology delivery solutions for Optum Care Organizations across the nation. The ideal candidate will have mastered the ability to manage complex technology delivery in a matrixed organization, demonstrate the ability to optimize & continuously improve the delivery system across both agile and waterfall teams, exemplify strong consulting skills to adapt to changing needs, and leading / ensuring all aspects of delivery are done with quality. You will have strong healthcare business acumen, fluent in technology, have proven track record of success, and demonstrate exceptional listening & communication skills. Success means leading teams to realize business value while artfully balancing quality, scope, schedule and financial expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage the end-to-end IT delivery process, across multiple methodologies and multiple hardware/software/telecommunications engineering organizations
  • Drive value to our customers and team members in a timely manner using value metrics to inform action
  • Own, establish and continuously improve an efficient delivery ecosystem while maintaining required governance processes
  • Lead and ensure all aspects of delivery are done with quality
  • Facilitate coordination and dependency alignment across all impacted teams
  • Proactively work to remove blockers, address issues, mitigate risks, and drive clear decision making
  • Create an intentional culture in line with Our United Culture
  • Maintain relevant business and technology health metrics that increases transparency and informs adaptive decision making
  • Work daily with Business, Technical, Operations, and Finance partners in order to focus on the whole system building solutions that maximize the full team
  • Coaching the team by meeting them where they are, developing their potential, and helping them find the answer that works best
  • Foster a team collaborative environment that tears down silos between groups - act in a single voice
  • Communication and engagement at multiple levels within both internal and external stakeholders

Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of IT experience
  • 5+ years hands on technical experience in one of more of the following areas- software development, server hardware build outs, network management, database design/builds, Cyber Security or telephony
  • 5+ years Program Management or Agile Practitioner experience in a large enterprise environment (Fortune 500)
  • 3+ years of leading/managing people
  • 3+ years proven financial acumen with experience managing budgets exceeding $5M or more
  • 3+ years delivering business or technology solutions for healthcare capabilities
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
