About the Team


The Solution Train Engineer (STE) team is part of the Strategic Platform Lean Program Management Team. The STE team facilitates end to end delivery of value at an Initiative and Epic level by


Facilitating consistent processes


Managing escalations


Identifying and managing risks


Providing stakeholder and executive visibility


Providing delivery management across all suppliers and product teams across the entire value chain for all initiatives that impact the Strategic Platform Organization


About the Job


Roles, Responsibilities & Expectations


STEs are accountable to ensure, as an SPT organization, we are ready to go into PI Planning and are delivering on our committed plan. Overall, the STE Team is responsible for:


+ Facilitating PI Planning

+ Facilitating Dependency Mapping


o To ensure the right sequencing of deliverables for an Epic across the impacted Teams


+ Providing Transparency and Metrics for Pre-PI

+ Providing status and progress towards the plan during PI Execution

+ Risk Management


For each epic an STE is assigned, they are expected to be able to speak to the below details:


+ Understanding of the ask and problem being solved & connecting the business ask/need to the initiative

+ Connecting epics to initiatives and how they are managed within each product team

+ Providing one single view to the business

+ Impacted product delivery teams

+ Status and Plan to Deliver

+ Is there an external date to target?

+ Forecast for SPT Completion (in which PI)

+ Key Sequencing / Dependencies (both internal and external to SPT)

+ Risks or Jeopardies along with owners, target date. STE is responsible for the mitigation plan


Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View


Servant Leader and Facilitator of Agile Events including all phases of Program Increment (PI) Planning, PI Demos and Retrospectives


Facilitating the end to end delivery of value at the Epic Level


Partnering with the Epic Team


Track, Escalate and Remove Impediments and Manage Risk


Making Data Driven Decisions


Stakeholder and Executive Communications


Qualifications


Bachelors Degree


6+ years of Agile Delivery & Methodology Experience


5+ years of experience with Agile Development, Agile Delivery and Agile Metrics


Technical Aptitude related to Agile Development, Dev Ops and Architecture


Skilled at juggling multiple demands


Ability to function well in uncertain situations


Experience with negotiation and critical thinking


4+ years of experience working within scaled agile development team


Demonstrates strong sense of urgency, ownership and operates in a collaborative manner


Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, and senior leaders
