What You'll Do

We are looking for a software engineer who is passionate about joining a team that develops software, integrates product, and partners with engineering teams across Cisco to enhance and accelerate the growth of our fast-growing, industry-leading enterprise class virtual routing products.

As a member of our team, you will utilize your software engineering skills while working in a fast-paced, high-quality environment to deliver ongoing enhancements to key platform, I/O and performance software in our current enterprise class software-based physical and virtual routing products, encompassing multiple areas including developing support for new hardware, virtual environments, new cloud environments, high performance, security, routing solutions, and more. Be a part of architectural shifts and next generation products, using your experience.

You will work with a world-class team of software developers and architects that pioneered hardware and software routing technologies and led the market to virtualization in our space. We are a quality-conscious organazation with great team dynamics who support each other and encourage personal growth for all experience levels. You will work with and learn from the many Cisco technology areas and solutions in which our product is integrated, with more to come!

Who You Are

You love learning new technology and interacting with new people. You are comfortable in working in new software code bases and engineering environments. You are someone who is quick to learn and apply your knowledge productively and desire to gain expertise in your area and in the product. You welcome mentoring and love to share your knowledge with others. You can manage your time and can learn independently but know when to ask for help. You are capable of substantial design work independently, in teams, and as a leader.

At a minimum, you'll need the following:

• BS in CS or CE with 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• You should have a proven experience in software development, in areas such as datacomm, routing, embedded systems, virtualization and cloud.
• In addition, you should have strong interpersonal skills.
• A huge plus is knowledge or experience in Cisco routing products; device drivers, dataplane and IO technogies such as DPDK; virtualization environments such as KVM and ESXi; public cloud providers such as Amazon Web Servicess, Azure and Google Cloud.
• Software development using C
