This is a laboratory-based position. The primary purpose of this position is to develop and qualify bioanalytical methods (qPCR/ddPCR, cell-based assays, molecular biology/cloning and ELISA) in support of characterization, toxicology and stability studies for bioprocess and formulation development of early phase vaccines.


+ Independently design, develop, qualify and transfer qPCR/ddPCR, cell based (flow cytometry) or ELISA analytical methods in support of the release and stability of vaccine candidates for characterization and/or toxicological studies.

+ Independently design, develop and clone DNA vectors.

+ Independently analyze, interpret, provide conclusions and document results in a timely manner for experiments and assays conducted.

+ Write and issue method SOPS, method development reports and method qualification reports.

+ Perform non-GMP release, characterization and stability testing on vaccine candidates as needed using developed assays.


+ PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or equivalent with at least 2 yrs of academic/pharmaceutical/biotech experience, or MS with 5 yrs of related work experience required.


+ A self-starter with a drive to initiate, prioritize and complete tasks on time.

+ Must have prior experience with molecular cloning, qPCR/ddPCR assay development including designing, developing and drafting methods and reports.

+ Must have a background in nucleic acid structure, function, characterization or cell-based assay development.

+ ELISA or cell-based assay development experience including cell culture and flow cytometry is a plus.

+ Proficiency with personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software is desirable. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
