The Product Owner will be responsible for acting as a single point-of-contact for stakeholders, sales, cleints and third parties for onboarding to Manheim APIs. Works with program management, sales and data syndication teams to understand client and third party API needs and requests. Also works with Product Owners, Product Managers and software development teams to gain a working knowledge and become a subject matter expert across all Manheim APIs. Reports to Senior Manager, Product Management.


PRIMARY DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITES


Planning:




* Engage and interact with various API users to understand and document use cases.

* Develop API integration plans to include sample data, live integration tests and test data generation

* Coordinate teams members from across the product and technology group to assess and execute API integration plans



Development:




* Identify and prioritize API documentation needs to increase usability and understadning of Manheim APIs.



Sales and Client Engagement:




* Work with the External Data Request team on pipeline of API integration requests.

* Be avaialable as a consultant at the point of initial requests to represent API capablities and high-level integration design.

* Partner with sales teams to understand and set expectations for client and thrid party API requests.

* Ongoing collaboration and support with API users after onboarding to help troubleshoot issues and guide shifts in use cases.



TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS




* Data - Ability to discuss APIs and client needs at the data field level, translating client requests to specific API functions. Learn Manheim terminology and fluently transition back-and-forth to generic or industry language.

* Operations - Learn the operational workflows of Manheims business processes and how they impact and show up in APIs. Provide clarity to API users on Manheim operations that influence how they will integrate with the APIs.

* Technical - Comfortable speaking to developers and other technical roles with developer-friendly terminology.




Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Communications, or a related field.

* 5 years; or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

* Experience working directly with customers and/or external partners.

* Experience with building or integrating with APIs.

* Working knowledge of REST API concepts and designs.

* Familiarity with authorization and authentication methods.

* Demonstrated ability to translate data into quantifiable actions/deliverables.

* Strong writing ability.

* Working experience in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
