*Role Summary*


The Senior Product Manager is accountable for and serves as an authority on all aspects of smartphone technical requirements by working with MNO, OEM and internal Cox Mobile stakeholders (including Product and Wireless Strategy teams). Leads cross-functional teams by example demonstrating passion and drive to satisfy stakeholder needs and optimize the requirements and testing process. Recognized as a subject matter expert on the latest technology trends within the mobile space as they relate to smartphones. Synthesizes information to determine both current and future (years in advance) technical requirements and needs. Provides insights and inputs into the smartphone strategy. Provides input into budget decision. Operates with extensive latitude for independent judgment within operational parameters. Provides continuous and visible leadership for current technical performance as well as future development and deployment plans. Negotiates critical and controversial technical issues with senior leadership on ideas and solutions that impact smartphones. Develops, or provides guidance to develop, innovative solutions to highly complex and/or emerging technologies. Provides influence and leadership to cross-functional teams and other stakeholders on new technologies that impact industry and/or corporate results.


*Primary Responsibilities*




* Create/write smartphone requirements based on the needs of the Cox Mobile business and internal stakeholders.

* Partner with MNO to understand device testing and associated requirements.

* Create test requirements/processes and leading execution of smartphone approval (both initial and MRs).

* Collaborate with OEMs to institute smartphone requirements (carrier settings, etc.)

* Identify, select and manage third party device testing labs.

* Partner with Product team to ensure that devices address the internal needs/processes, including but not limited to services, activation, etc.

* Work with the Wireless Strategy team to provide feedback on current smartphone capabilities and ensure that smartphones are prepared for any network related requirements in the future.

* Manage SIM profile and be an expert on SIM/eSIM technologies & trends.

* Provide updates on new technologies to team (new Android release, new display technology, etc.) to ensure internal stakeholders aware of potential impact on their roles and the business.

* Investigate/Assess new technologies to elevate smartphone experience (MDM, Zero Touch, etc.)

* Monitor developments within the industry, vendor community and technology trends to consider implications and benefits to customer expectations and roadmaps.

* Present new technologies to internal stakeholders to ensure wireless team aware and may assess potential business or customer impacts on these topics.

* Facilitates vendor technology sessions on key technologies (WiFi, Networking, 5G, MEC, etc.) to educate team regarding industry trends.

* Generate business insights which guide product solutions.

* Consulted by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on his/her interpretations and advice.

* Provide leadership and authority in the organization with respect to technology associated with smartphones.


Qualifications: *Minimum Qualifications*




* 7 or more years of experience required in related field (e.g. Technology, Marketing, Process Improvement, etc.)

* 5 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree.

* Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.

* Demonstrate strong technical and market knowledge.



*Preferred Qualifications*




* BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (e.g. Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)

* 5 or more years of experience working with smartphones from a technology and/or carrier testing perspective.

* 3 or more years of experience in a management role preferred.

* Experience in telecommunications or high-tech environment.
