Auto req ID: 242329BR Job Description The Senior Manager, Merchandising Print Production is responsible for leading the development of all temporary (as defined by substrate and time in market) marketing collateral used in our customers retail environments. This position partners with the Creative Managers on our Commercial Marketing team to advise our internal Brand and Shopper Marketing partners on the elements necessary for bringing our promotions and product launches to life at the Moment of Choice. You will be responsible for the structural integrity of our product holding elements and large retail theatre display pieces, managing our approved print partners to deliver each project on time and within an aligned cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate for this role should have solid experience working in an environment where they are managing multiple projects that are all at different points in the overall development timeline and understands how to use the process as a guardrail not a mandate. This is a critical role on our Commercial Marketing team, as it requires an expert balance of process, details, logistics, and creative considerations. The Senior Manager will be expected to collaborate closely with multiple cross-functional expert partners including Brand, Design, Agencies, Print Suppliers, Division Marketing, Legal, Global Procurement, Commercial Planning, and Shopper Marketing. This is one of a functional expert, but you will be expected to be able to understand and accommodate competing agendas and priorities as business pressures ebb and flow. Key accountabilities will include the following: Oversee the competitive bid and negotiation process with print vendors in partnership with our Global Procurement function Develops and approves print production schedules, budgets and final art files and die lines in line with master initiative timeline standards and milestones Works with print vendors, internal Design team and brand/agencies to develop new retail theatre and product holding display elements that reflect a deep understanding of the retail environment, shopper affinities and brand relevance Establishes processes, methods and quality assurance steps with internal team and vendor partners Manages all aspects of the costs associated with our print projects including evaluating and negotiating the best price, approving POs and ensuring the final budget is accurate and complete Advises the Creative, Brand and Agency teams on printing standards, retail considerations, and overall effectiveness of each retail activation solution Creates efficiencies through standard operating procedures and best practices for all print production processes including determination of color proofing where applicable, file transfer process, creative development timelines and approvals, etc. Manages junior staff members and provides performance coaching and career development guidance Qualifications/Requirements BS in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain, or other related fields 8+ years of consumer product experience within print management or buying, with leadership in the production function. Agency or internal creative group experience preferred Expert knowledge of printing processes, prepress and project management tools Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate agenda and quickly gain alignment with business partners, both internally and externally Ability to work within a complex matrix organization Proficient in Microsoft Office, and proficient enough in Adobe Creative Suite to be able to open production files and ensure the proper build was educated Ability to carefully examine internal proofs against printer proofs, and identify issues.
