The Array Discovery team (WRD) and this role is based in Boulder, Colorado. This role will report into Jim Blake, Senior Research Fellow, on the Array Discovery team.

**Summary:**

We are seeking a Sr Principal Scientist, Computational Chemist to join our research group. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of using computational insights to guide medicinal chemistry projects in a pharmaceutical environment. This position will develop into a leadership role within the computational chemistry group.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



The successful candidate will



+ Be part of multidisciplinary teams working on the design and evaluation of new disease targets and analogues for key medicinal chemistry projects

+ Identifies and develops scientific strategies to support goals .

+ Promote and evaluate new computational techniques and technologies for drug discovery

+ Assist the medicinal chemistry teams with prioritization and compound design

+ Works independently (under minimal supervision) and makes decisions that require developing new options to solve complex problems.

+ Represent the computational chemistry group to management and internal collaborators

+ Provides formal/informal mentoring

+ As a member of multidisciplinary teams, you will have the opportunity to influence lead optimization and lead identification efforts throughout the organization



**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Ph.D. Computational Chemistry

+ 8+ years' post graduate experience in the pharmaceutical industry applying various methods of computer modeling to drug discovery projects

+ Skilled in applying state-of-the-art methods and tools for structure-based drug design, in silico screening, QSAR, and pharmacophore development

+ Must be self-motivated, have exceptional communication skills, and have a strong grasp of bio-organic and physical chemistry concepts

+ Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.



**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Experience with programming languages that are used in scientific applications is a plus
