UnitedHealth Group is seeking talented individuals for our Senior Pharmacy Technician opportunities. Under supervision of a pharmacy lead, this position performs designated technical and clerical tasks associated with the preparation, labeling and dispensing of medications, including sterile admixtures and pre - packaged or unit dose drugs. In addition, performs designated tasks related to pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control and preparation of orders for drugs.

To excel in this role, you will need to remain flexible in your approach and be able to work as an effective part of a high performing team.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • The schedule is 8 am - 5 pm Monday thru Friday with rotating weekends on call 
  • Completes patient orders by selecting medications as indicated on the patient medication profile; assists in preparing and labeling of intravenous medication orders using proper sterile and aseptic technique
  • Compounds specialty drug products
  • Uses aseptic technique when compounding sterile drug products
  • Completes accurate documentation of items compounded and re - packaged
  • Reorders inventory as necessary to maintain a continuous inventory of medications and supplies
  • Receives, checks in and restocks medications
  • Performs quality control activities related to sterile compounding and the clean room per company policy
  • Works to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, State, Federal, OSHA and other regulatory standards
  • Follows all department policy and procedures
  • Answers phones in a courteous and timely manner
  • Attends to customers in a timely manner and serves as a bridge between the customer and the pharmacist
