Perform or verify geometry, hydrostatic and hydrodynamic calculations, design, and analysis directly related to hydrodynamics and hydro acoustics of ships and submarines. This includes accounting for properties of materials and joining methods, strength, structure, arrangements, weights and stability, trim, interface and interoperability with mechanical equipment, electrical and electro-mechanical equipment. Perform problem solving through complex calculations, simulation, or direct observation. Lead non-senior engineers, conduct technical resource allocation, and develop and deliver briefings to audiences of varying technical competency and seniority.


  • BS required in Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Marine (Ocean) Engineering or Naval Architecture.
  • Ten years naval architecture experience in marine engineering programs for the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Military Sealift Command.
  • Knowledgeable in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) technology and publication standards for print and fully proficient with office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Secret clearance.
