The Digital & Technology Colleague Products and Solutions delivers products and solutions which enable colleagues to work better together, progressing business outcomes that power patient health with greater efficiency and effectiveness.

As Pfizer transitions to the Microsoft Office 365 productivity suite, which includes Microsoft Teams with audio and video capabilities, it is critical that required meeting room hardware is determined to integrate current and future technology to hybrid use as needed.

The principal role of the Senior Manager, Video Solutions Engineer - Colleague Products & Solutions is to own and drive our video convergence strategy and solution tool set - Webex, Teams AV and integration of telecommunications software with a variety of conference room equipment.

Ideally, the candidate has implemented and optimized new and existing global telecommunications and AV systems or has deployed Teams AV or Skype at another large global company.

This position will also provide development and engineering for Digital Workplace video-based products and solutions. This includes, but not limited to, video conferencing solutions, integrated conference room designs with one-touch startup and virtualization of physical work environments to enable colleagues to feel as connected as if they were physically co-located. They are expected to have advanced technical knowledge and experience in Digital Workplace products and solutions, enabling them to propose innovative solutions and produce associated system designs for our business partners. The role is expected to understand and interpret internal and external business needs and to proactively recommend improvements and solutions, develop prototypes for our business clients, review technical architecture diagrams delivered by vendor partners and provide critical feedback that ensures vendors follow Digital & Technology standards.

The products and solutions developed by the Senior Manager, Video Solutions Engineer - Colleague Products & Solutions are often complex and used in a global environment. To ensure their success they will be expected to:

+ Build and maintain a strong line of communication between all Colleague Products and Solutions' teams to effectively respond to business requests and encourage knowledge sharing

+ Engineer (architect, design, build, deploy, and support) leading-edge Digital Workplace products and solutions

+ Determine and develop convergence and integration of rich media and collaboration tools. Examples include Microsoft technology offerings, collaboration end points and bridging software to allow utilization of existing videoconferencing equipment

+ Work with the Workplace Productivity Emerging Technologies Lead to design and develop virtual equivalents to physical space, including conference room technology solutions, NYHQ build out and PGS IMEX use of Microsoft Surface Hubs and Hololens

+ Understand and communicate the impact of, and integration requirements for, the recommended products and solutions

+ Proactively assess and interpret business needs to transform them into requirements and propose innovative solutions

+ Act as the primary decision maker regarding technical approaches for applications, collaborating with fellow team members to ensure consistent solution delivery standards

+ Perform platform impact assessments in collaboration with stakeholders, technical architects, developers, and engineers

+ Perform or oversee deployment activities, including off-hours support for system maintenance as required

+ Represent Digital & Technology in both business and technical governance forums and work with the all relevant D&T business partners to ensure the Digital Workplace roadmap aligns with business needs

+ Participate in vendor management activities, including RFP generation, vendor selection, providing code samples and task management

+ Understand and interpret internal and external business needs and to proactively develop prototypes, recommend improvements, and solutions

+ Participate in troubleshooting and support calls as needed by the Services and Support team as the subject matter expert (SME)

+ Develop user interface (UI) mockups and storyboards to help facilitate solution requirements

+ Understand functional and technical requirements and provide solutions to the project team, helping them to solve some of the more complex challenges and engendering a collaborative, knowledge sharing environment

+ Identify and communicate risks to the project to assist in determining which risks are acceptable, and putting in place risk mitigation plans for those that are not acceptable

+ Accommodate change, both from business stakeholders and from within the technology group, making appropriate preparations and advising on impact and opportunities

+ Maintain comprehensive knowledge of development and engineering capabilities, methodologies and best practices to ensure latest technology solutions are being used

+ Actively promote projects outside of the technology group, broadening awareness of applications and platforms, and supporting stakeholders' endeavors to communicate these capabilities to their peers

+ Continuously drive process improvement to ensure high quality outcomes, advocating use of new techniques and technologies where appropriate (e.g. automated testing strategies), and sharing ideas with other project teams within the technology group

+ Create technical documentation as needed


+ Bachelor's degree in information management, computer science, engineering or related field

+ Minimum of 10+ years as an information technology professional in roles such as a software developer, technical project manager, systems administrator, database administrator, systems engineer, computer engineer or support specialist, engineering lead, technical team lead

+ Experience working on workplace productivity products and solutions - integrated teams platforms, content management, audio & video conferencing, video streaming, content management, email, cloud services. Examples include Microsoft Office 365, Cisco Webex, Sinequa, Box, Google

+ Ability to work collaboratively on a team of varying demographics - small, large, global, technical + non-technical

+ Demonstrated ability to balance cost, quality and timing to meet business requirements, anticipating problems and to finding resolutions before major milestones or deliverables are derailed

+ Experience working on projects with significant technology infrastructure, security and compliance requirements. Demonstrated experience with application change management and computer system validation

+ Advanced knowledge of Digital Workplace products and solutions (Microsoft Office 365, including OneDrive and SharePoint, Cisco Webex, Sinequa) and experience with other technologies, including one or more of the following: Java and J2EE, Web Services, Oracle databases, .NET, HTML, XML, JavaScript

+ Demonstrated success in managing outsourced vendor delivery, including offshore delivery partners

+ Technical aptitude and expertise; understanding of infrastructure services and support

+ Experience with SDLC processes and delivering IT solutions at a global level


+ Migration experience from WebEx to Microsoft Teams at a large global company

+ Excellent skills in planning, analysis, oral and written communication, consensus building, facilitation, negotiation, and the ability to readily learn a new business area

+ Project delivery in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment

+ Experience working within technology infrastructure organization
