What Youll Do

You will lead a team of analysts, senior analysts and data scientists in Central Forecasting team. Central Forecasting team is part of Global Planning Organization, under Supply Chain Operations. This team will build a comprehensive, data enabled forecasting process using data and insights from BU Marketing, Distribution, Sales, Finance and external sources to elevate our planning performance. This team will explore advanced analytics capabilities, both internally and externally to Cisco, to push the boundaries on whats possible.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop an industry-leading forecasting approach that provides Cisco with a competitive planning edge. Explore, assess and implement advanced analytical capabilities from both internal and external sources to our forecasting processes.
  • Mature our planning Forecasting process by providing thought leadership, advanced analytical capabilities, and operational rigor with well-defined processes and governance, and driving necessary transformation initiatives.
  • Lead the base Demand Signal review process to critically review forecasts submitted at the BU, BSE and Cisco levels that will cascade to and drive our Fulfillment Supply Chain teams. Partner closely with the Demand Planning teams who have more detailed and comprehensive knowledge on product platforms, product and technology transitions, and BU-specific marketing strategies.
  • Partner with Cisco entities that have knowledge and insights to both run rate and big deal demand to improve forecasting accuracy. Partners include BU Marketing & Finance, Distribution Sales & Finance, Sales and Sales Finance, and external marketing and economic sources.
  • Identify process, system and data requirements for implementing solutions. Work with planning transformation teams to get capability requirements into funded programs for full implementation.
  • Coach and uplift planning talent and foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation and experimentation.

Who Youll Work With

You will work closely with demand planners and managers within Global Planning Organization. Also, you will collaborate with teams from Operations, Business Unit, Sales, Finance and Transformation teams.

Who You Are

  • At least 10 years of experience (Cisco or Industry) in advanced analytics, demand planning, end-to-end planning processes, supply chain financials, and / or supply chain modeling experience. Prior people management experience is required.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess, frame and drive data centric decisions. Lead and coach a team to build models to analyze what-if scenarios for forward looking planning purposes. Recognizes underlying themes and patterns and reduces complex data to a few key conclusions that can easily be understood by partners and senior management.
  • Shows ability to hire, coach and develop talent effectively. Manages a team of professional employees responsible for completing operational activities and projects. Ensures processes, systems and people operate in concert with each other and the necessary training, support and metrics are in place. Drives to a diverse and open environment, recognizing our global footprint.
  • Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience to ensure effective communication. Capable of leading conversations to influence and drive better decisions with multiple partners, often at the Director and VP levels.
  • Provides thought leadership. Sees connections between planning actions and strategic business outcomes and can articulate the strategy to team members and partners.
  • Assesses the business conditions and help align with partners and business partners to make collective progress. Develops alternatives and recommendations to business partners with a detailed understanding of applicable business/functional initiatives and current strategies
