As a Software Engineering Manager you must be able to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment. Responsibilities for this position are to manage full time employees, provide leadership and guidance to multiple Scrum teams, oversee project and backlog status across multiple Scrum teams, and contribute to the overall goals to meet MBO's and develop team members.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple development Scrum teams to deliver against prioritized backlogs
  • ""
  • Lead large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives
  • ""
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on application architecture, design, and decision-making
  • ""
  • Develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
  • ""
  • Design and implement application enhancements in collaboration with different teams
  • ""
  • Manage production support issues post release deployment and come up with solutions
  • ""
  • Manage and develop full time employees and contractors
  • ""
  • Maintain alignment of teams to business and technical delivery expectations, and act as a point of contact for escalations and leadership communications
  • ""
  • Ability to lead and contribute to the resolution complex production issues
  • ""
  • Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
  • ""
  • Participate in the development of business strategy
  • ""
  • Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • ""
  • Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches

  • Function as a mentor for software engineers, quality engineers, and scrum masters, providing assistance where needed

  • Involvement with senior management in terms of supplying input for key design and architecture decisions, as well as work estimation and resource planning

Required Qualifications:

    ""
  • 5+ years of experience with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • ""
  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience using technologies including any of the following: Java/J2EE, .Net, Jenkins, Oracle, Datastage, Talend, or Cloud SDK
  • ""
  • 3+ years of managerial experience
  • ""
  • 2+ years of experience leading teams that span multiple locations across the globe
  • ""
  • 1+ years of experience with software development delivery using Agile principles and framework
  • ""
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location
  • ""
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.
