As a Senior Healthcare Economics Consultant, you will perform analysis of payer and provider financial arrangements. Youll interact with your peers and leaders with a focus on performance to achieve business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

    ""
  • Perform the evaluation of payer proposals related to fee-for-service, capitation arrangements, and other value-based contracts
  • ""
  • Analyze provider reimbursement arrangements, including capitation, hospital, physician and ancillary contracts
  • ""
  • Design and implement sound tools and applications to efficiently measure, monitor and forecast revenue from payers and reimbursement to providers
  • ""
  • Design and code efficient and effective solutions for challenging problems ranging from small to large complex work efforts
  • ""
  • Encourage and promote idea generation in support of health care cost reduction strategies.
  • ""
  • Identify potential areas for medical cost improvements
  • ""
  • Build strong relationships within the organization including financial, actuarial, network contracting and clinical operations areas
  • "

This position will require an understanding of Accountable Care Shared Savings and Risk, product pricing portfolio, and fee-for-service contract analysis. Candidate should have demonstrated ability working within cross-functional teams and working with senior leadership. Successful candidates will have strong people, project, change and data management skills and the ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment.

Required Qualifications:

    ""
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • ""
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare finance, healthcare informatics, network/contract analytics, unit cost and utilization trend evaluations all utilizing health/claims data for a payer/health plan or provider/care delivery system
  • ""
  • 3+ years of experience working with Shared Risk and Savings models, Accountable Care activities including opportunity identification and communication
  • ""
  • Ability to work in heavily focused Ad-Hoc analysis environment (75% Ad-Hoc/25% Routine)
  • ""
  • Advanced proficiency working with query, business intelligence and statistical tools, including MS-SQL (including analytic functions) and/or SAS
  • ""
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel including advanced formulas and pivots
  • ""
