The Finance Division of Edward Jones is seeking a highly-motivated accounting & finance professional with the potential and desire for continued career growth to join the Expense Planning & Analysis Team within the Financial Reporting, Planning & Analysis Department of the Finance Division. *The Expense Planning & Analysis Team exists "to enable financial stewardship across the organization by creating and communicating key financial information, sharing financial insights, supporting the decision-making process regarding firm expense, and upholding firm spend controls."*

*This role will be responsible for working in partnership with leaders across the organization in their expense management efforts by: (i) preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial information, (ii) supporting division leadership in understanding how their business activities drive the firm's financial results, and (iii) leading their divisions through the firm's expense planning process. *

*Key Functional Responsibilities:*
* Establish and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders and understand the financial impact of their responsibilities, objectives, supporting strategies and business activities across the firm.
* Drive the financial analysis of division expenses deeper into the responsible divisions by proactively developing and communicating key financial information to business owners.
* Lead division(s) through the firm's expense planning process; Develop a strong cost disciplined mindset throughout the organization.
* Establish and adhere to strong accounting controls to safeguard the firm's assets and continuously monitor these controls to ensure they are functioning properly to mitigate firm risk.
* *Serve as the primary Finance liaison to the divisions for expense management processes, controls, reporting, analysis and communicating financial information between the divisions and Finance.*
* *Champion the evolution of existing processes, controls, and technology in order to meet the changing needs and increasing complexity of the organization.*

*Operational Responsibilities *
* Develop and maintain business relationships and partnerships with targeted business owners and stakeholders across the firm to: (i) understand their business objectives, (ii) support their decision-making process, and (iii) increase cross-functional cooperation and sharing of information.
* Prepare, summarize, and present firm financial information and analysis; Identify trends and package/present findings and recommendations to senior leaders in Finance and supported divisions in order to influence decision making.
* Inform and educate other business areas as to the financial impact of potential business decisions they are responsible for making.
* Proactively review, analyze, document, and recommend improvements to reporting, analysis, processes and controls related to area responsibilities and drive implementation of solutions with leadership support.
* Participate in, and occasionally lead, cross-functional teams responsible for implementing projects in support of divisional and firm-wide business objectives.
* Develop divisional and Firm-level reporting and measurements to create awareness of and accountability for results

*Requirements:*
* Bachelor's degree with a Finance/Accounting emphasis
* CPA/MBA strongly preferred
* 4+ years of relevant work experience
* Prior financial analysis experience required
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required, including working ability to utilize pivot tables, advanced charting, advanced formulas, and conditional formatting.
* Prior experience with departmental systems (PeopleSoft) and/or business intelligence software (Tableau) is considered a plus.


Functional Skill Sets
* Intermediate analysis skills, primarily forecasting, investigating and explaining variances and completing structured financial impact analysis such as total cost of ownership and return on investment analysis.
* Intermediate to advanced understanding of accounting principles, processes, controls and financial statements.
* Possess intellectual curiosity as well as a strong interest in & desire to implement change.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to business area leaders.
* Ability to summarize and communicate financial information and concepts (of low to moderate complexity) to non-financial leaders.
* Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence leaders and associates across the organization.
* Ability to make decisions and manage medium scale projects or initiatives using basic project management skills.
* Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
* Contribute to a positive team climate.
* Achieve high levels of productivity by establishing objectives, managing priorities, and driving for results.
* Able to prioritize workload according to criteria such as time urgency, perceived value of outcome, ease of completion, importance, and political/organizational factors.
