Reporting to the VP & President, North America, the Sr Director/VP, Sales & Business Development, will be responsible for full spectrum go-to-market activities in the Defense Industry Base suppliers (DIBS) space, emphasizing the US defense accounts (DoD) through a strong relationship with customer executives. The successful candidate will aid Qualcomm in expanding into adjacent markets and customers by winning new government contracts and accounts. He/She will be responsible for expertise in strategic sales, business development, planning, pipeline development, and execution.


The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success working across the full value chain of the defense contracting industry. This includes working with and cultivating business relationships directly with one or more branches of the DoD, Tier 1 defense suppliers and system integrators. He/She will have had extensive experience in developing and driving discussion with all key decision-makers including C-level.

Demonstrated experience in working with Defense Industry Base suppliers (DIBS)/contractors, successfully selling into defense departments where purchasing decisions are made, and understanding how new products, platforms, and tools are rolled out in military environments will be essential. He/She will continually monitor and evaluate government and military-industrial activities and analysis of future strategies to capitalize on Qualcomms business opportunities and results. Partnering effectively with both external and internal resources will be critical in this position.

  • 15+ years of sales/business development experience in negotiating and managing US government contracts
  • Leadsalesteam to create long term relationships with major OEMdefense contractors to identify new business opportunities.
  • P&L and executive leadership expertise in developing and delivering cutting-edge global technology solutions and critical services.
  • Strategic Planning for opportunities, capabilities, campaign development based on customer budgets,market& competitor landscape
  • Passionate and entrepreneurial with expertise in new business development, proposal preparation, costing, and pricing analysis.
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding business area revenue, margin, cash targets, and organic and new business growth.
  • Developing sales strategies and influencing of business development teams to deliver successful solutions by teaming, partnership, and strategic alliances in the defense marketplace
  • Leverage cross-company solutions to solve complex technical requirements while delivering outstanding customer service
  • Works collaboratively across the company and with industry partners to help establish operational and tactical goals
  • Ability to communicate, educate and evangelizeboth internally and externally
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative problem solving with strong analytical skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, technology or related business field
  • 15+ years in sales, business development or related work experience
  • 5+ years in a leadership role

Preferred Qualifications

  • A current or recent Top Secret (TS/SI) security clearance
  • Masters degree in business or technology preferred
  • 20+ years in sales, business development planning in Private networks/secure channels/ Semiconductor (mobile)/IOT/Connectivity/Carrier infrastructure industries.
