**ROLE SUMMARY**



Pfizer Architecture and Digital Innovation Lab organization is responsible for translating Pfizer's strategy into innovative products and digital, data, and technology business solutions for our customers, partners, and colleagues. The team leads the strategic efforts in creating an enterprise blueprint that ties together our experiences, data, workflows, capabilities, applications, integration, and back-end services in a cohesive way that strengthens our capabilities, drives speed, and powers innovation.



The Senior Director, Connected Platforms Architecture, leads the architecture and master plan with focus on enterprise platforms, integration, data exchange, workflows, security, and infrastructure. This role leads the development of horizontal enterprise strategies, cross functional blueprints, plans, and standards.



The Senior Director, Connected Platforms Architecture, works across the global Pfizer enterprise and the healthcare ecosystem to deliver Digital capabilities in a platform manner, enable cloud-native development approaches, accelerate delivery via composable techniques, and champion innovative strategies across all Digital functions globally.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



**Overall**



+ Lead a team of architects responsible for enterprise platforms, integration, workflow, infrastructure, and security architectures to support business strategies and priorities across all Pfizer business functions.

+ Drive cross-functional enterprise-wide strategies in partnership with Domain Architecture, Digital Innovation Lab, and other Pfizer Digital and business groups.

+ Interfaces across business areasand digital solution areas, acting as visionary to proactively assist in defining the directionand feasibilityfor future projects.

+ Guide architecture practices and delivery in cross functional strategies and efforts. Lead solution architecture and perform an involved advisory role on large complex initiatives. Offer leadership in building consensus on approach and provide technical execution oversight. Identify and mediate conflicting requirements among solution stakeholders.

+ Define and drive adoption of architectural standards and governance by leveraging experience at various levels across technologies, including DevSecOps, Applications, Platforms, Infrastructure, Cloud, Operations and IT Service Management.

+ Lead analysis of leading and emerging technology and market trends to determine their impact and opportunities for the enterprise architecture with focus on Digital capabilities and innovations to enable Pfizer business strategy.

+ Expand the organization's offerings, with focus on emerging approaches, skills, and technologies to drive value from Pfizer Digital assets and enable business innovation.

+ Develop and execute communication and change management strategies across various Digital and business functions.

+ Cultivate technical expertise and champion and enable learning, adoption, reskill and reuse across Digital.

+ Mentor, coach, guide and grow architecture team members and other Digital colleagues, creating a strong collaborative engaging cross functional team culture.



**Enterprise Platforms**



+ Initiate, champion, and govern Digital platform-centric delivery strategy, scaling use of strategic platforms to deliver new business strategies and capabilities.

+ Cultivate technical expertise and champion and enable learning, adoption, reskill and reuse across Digital, with focus on scale-ready technologies and approaches, such as platform-centric delivery, cloud-native approaches, and others.

+ Develop and implement outcome-based metrics to measure and drive adoption of platform-centric approaches to accelerate solution delivery, increase agility, and amplify innovation.



**Ecosystem Integration, Connectivity, and Workflows**



+ Lead Pfizer's integration, connectivity and workflow architecture, standards, patterns, and best practices. Develop and maintain strategy, including architecture of current technologies, as well as exploration and adoption of emerging tech and networks.

+ Provides leadership in the definition of digital business APIs and connectivity that enables Pfizer to integrate into the broader global healthcare ecosystem, enabling greater value exchange with partners and customers and the digitization of end-to end value streams and processes.

+ Develop and promote modern architectural approaches that encourage data and value exchange, and facilitate digitization of processes, business connectivity, and partner collaboration.

+ Partner with Digital Creation Centers to scale and reuse target integration, connectivity and workflow platforms and technologies. Establish practices and processes, working horizontally across Digital to govern and operationalize new technologies to enable their broad and effective use across Pfizer.



**Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security Architecture**



+ Lead a team responsible for the infrastructure, cloud, platforms and security architecture, providing thought leadership and architecture services for all aspects of this domain.

+ Frame large-scale, enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, from current state assessments through technical oversight alongside the program team for delivery, including areas such as cloud, major technology refresh, software defined, and infra platform as a service.

+ Provide leadership in assessing and governing infrastructure and application fitness across the company. Communicate, build consensus, initiative and champion efforts to reduce technical dent.



**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, advanced degree preferred.

+ 10+ years of technology architecture, engineering, design, delivery, or operations leadership roles in large global organizations. Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred.

+ Extensive expertise with enterprise platforms (e.g. SAP ERP, Salesforce Veeva CRM, ServiceNow, and others).

+ Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, cloud application development (e.g. PaaS, Serverless, API Management), container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes), and microservice frameworks

+ Experience with integration platforms, workflow, business process management, and continuous integration technologies.

+ Experience with software architecture and practices (design/development/deployment, Agile, DevSecOps, SCRUM)

+ Architecture planning, management and governance experience.

+ Exceptional strategic thought partner, ability to lead in strong co-creation and collaboration with Digital and business partners across Pfizer.

+ Demonstrated ability to bring creative ideas and drive digital innovation, leading with the customer in mind

+ Experience across multiple internal and external domains and architecture environments.

+ Demonstrated ability to develop talent and build effective teams. Excellent communication skills and the ability to indirectly influence key partners and stakeholders.

+ Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
