Responsibilities

  • The Senior Cyber Defense Information Assurance/Security Engineer (Cyber Defense Posture Evaluator) is responsible for applying technical expertise to develop technical solutions to complex network security problems and exercising latitude in provide network cyber defense and operating security devices remotely and locally.
  • Respnsible for applying system security engineering principles to provide realistic Network Health validation designed to enhance security posture.
  • Provides information assurance support for the development and implementation of security architectures to meet new and evolving security requirements.
  • Responsible for developing strategies to comply with privacy, risk management, and e-authentication requirements.
  • Executes and assists in shaping policy in line with Risk Management Framework (RMF) regulations and adheres to standard physical security, information security and information assurance policies.
  • Provides certification and accreditation support in the development of security and contingency plans and conducts complex risk and vulnerability assessments; scans systems for vulnerabilities and indications of compromise. Responsible for supporting Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI) preparations, to include mock CCRI audits, data collection and reporting, Score Card updates, Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) updates, routine assessment reports and assisting OEM Remediation Team.
  • Coordinates all evaluations with the appropriate section-head and produce written reports defining each inspection/evaluation to include, processes, procedures, findings, and recommendation.
  • Provides general IT management support, general networking, Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) enterprise, CONUS and OCONUS deployment/TDY travel, functional training, technical and general O&M, documentation and reports, and meetings/briefings to support Air Force Central Command (AFCENT) Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) operations.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in related field, and 5 or more years relevant experience; OR 7 or more years relevant experience.
  • Security+ or CCNA-Sec
  • MCP (Server), MCSD (App Builder), and ITIL Foundation
  • TS with SCI Eligibility
