Qualifications
TS/SCI clearance
Minimum Education / Experience
MA/MS degree in related scientific field AND 12 years of experience as a Computer Scientist on US Army or DoD programs and projects that provided expert intelligence analysis services
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrates ability to employ mathematics, statics, information science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, network science, probability modeling, data mining, data engineering, data warehousing, data compression, data protection, and/or other scientific techniques to correlate complex, technical findings into graphical written, visual and verbal narrative products on trends of existing intelligence data to leverage other IC data sources.
Demonstrates ability to develop and utilize machine learning and data mining algorithms, including, but not limited to, Multiple Information Model Synthesis Architecture (MIMOSA) prediction algorithms based on open source capabilities.
Demonstrates ability to integrate or code algorithms to support intelligence search and discovery missions.
Demonstrates ability to employ data science techniques to support predictive analysis, social media and crowd-source data analytics, wargaming, and strategy development.
Demonstrates ability to employ exploratory analysis and rapid iteration techniques of large volumes of data to quickly derive intelligence.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and understanding of the scientific and technical research and applications listed in the labor category required to meet mission requirements.
Provides in-depth scientific and technical analysis to provide support analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulates key findings. Demonstrates ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks.
Demonstrates ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.
Demonstrates ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic products.
Desired Experience
Demonstrated experience with the application of quantitative and qualitative analytic methods
Detailed knowledge of NGIC, Army, DIA, NSA, CIA, and/or interagency operations
Understanding of DoD Intelligence processes, activities, standards, and available analytic tools with general understanding of strategic intelligence analysis
Knowledge of and experience with Conventional and Irregular Warfare concepts and operations
Responsibilities
This position is at a Government site in Charlottesville, VA. The candidate applies expertise in computer science to perform intelligence analysis of foriegn forces.
Provides feedback to design engineers and evaluates end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Working as expert, conducts research and evaluates technical performance of software products and overall segments and systems. Ensures products and systems comply with requirements and government information assurance and cyber security standards and practices through formal verification methods. Verifies/validates systems with specific emphasis on network operations and cyber warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures focused on the threat to information networks. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Prepares assessments and cyber threat profiles of current and planned products based on sophisticated testing, research, and analysis. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they verify/validate the requirements. Develops and maintains analytical procedures to meet changing requirements. Produces high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for senior US government intelligence and operations officials.
