Member of a Systems Integration team within AT&T Mobility & Entertainment Engineering as a Network Lead who is well-versed in designing, planning, and building highly available and highly scalable 24/7 networking infrastructures. This person will share the responsibility of overall design, integration, and maintenance of test lab environments that support the AT&T Entertainment Services broadcast, public cloud, streaming, and back-end business systems. This position will be an integral part of a very successful team of engineers who are responsible for the development, integration, testing, and management of core systems within AT&T Mobility & Entertainment. Duties/Responsibilities:


Ability to work in enterprise level Agile frameworks such as SAFe and help push agile-minded culture shifts.

Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and designers to review and create requirements/user stories, provide estimates, software design specifications, and test and validate hardware/software interations.

Create and execute automated plans/strategies utilizing business requirements and collaborate with engineers/architects, to validate test environments, code fixes, and designs.

Lead the network design, maintenance, and operation of cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)

Supports application developers and identifies/solves configuration and environment issues.

Be the main POC for all aspects of the cloud Infrastructure service for Labs.

Manage and support CI/CD tools pipeline and associated infrastructure.

Administer and maintain Cisco networking systems.

Specify and certify next generation networking hardware to match company growth.

Design/Build/Maintain highly available and scalable systems infrastructure.

Ability to integrate new technologies into existing infrastructure.

Manage and ensure development, integration, test, and production environments are all in sync by implementing and maintaining revision change control systems and processes.

Support and maintain communication and project workflow between development, test, and operations groups.

Understand how to maintain and deploy DNS, DMZ, and Internet-related services. Candidate should have a good understanding of how to secure internal subnets against external Internet traffic by utilizing different technologies such as load balancers, firewalls, DMZ zoning, and VLAN segregation.

Understand server virtualization technology such as VMWare and the proper use of these environments.

Familiarization with Hyperconverged Infrastructure and best practices for use and implementation.

Be able to work successfully in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment, and effectively multi-task multiple priorities independently or in a team-oriented setting.

Possess excellent written/verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills and be able to communicate ideas and concepts between different departments.

Demonstrate leadership and organizational skills by seeing a project from design concept to final product deployment.

Establish technology roadmaps for Networks, SW versions, and networking software through product evaluations and collaboration with development and operations groups.


Applicant must possess a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field (e.g., EE, CS, CE), and have at least 5 to 8 years of professional experience in the area of networking design, integration, and installation. In addition, this individual should have experience or strong familiarity with a majority of the following technologies:


Networking systems: Cisco, Arista, Juniper

Load balancers: F5, ADX

Firewall platforms: FirePower, ASA

Network related protocols: TCP/IP, SSH, NFS, CIFS, FTP

Software Coordination/Collaboration tools: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Github

High availability and scalability technology: Clustering software, auto-failover, Ethernet bonding

Design/planning software tools: Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project

Monitoring: SolarWinds, Whats Up gold

Disaster Recovery: TACACS, Cloud EC2, RDS & VPC, ADR

Web Services and API: XML, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI


Because of the nature of the video business, on-call support may occasionally be required. Minimum travel may also be required.


AT&T and TPG signed an agreement to form a new entity, DIRECTV, which will own and operate AT&Ts U.S. video unit consisting of DIRECTV (consumer and business satellite services), AT&T TV and U-verse TV (excluding U-verse network assets). **_When the transaction closes, the job you are applying for will become part of the New DIRECTV_** **.** Transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2021.
