As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll provide process and technology services to strengthen and improve health care operations that result in stronger financial returns and identifying the solutions to help people live healthier lives. This position works closely with the HealthPlan Community & State leadership team through utilization of strong business and technology acumen to define, develop, implement, and analyze business reporting requirements to ensure needs are captured and critical deliveries are executed.

Primary Responsibilities:

    ""
  • Collaborates with HealthPlan operations team to define reporting deliverables and develop solutions that are reusable across the organization
  • ""
  • Recommends and implements new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve business processes, report content and completeness of information
  • ""
  • Independently develop, analyze and monitor new, routine and ad hoc reports using multiple data sources and systems
  • ""
  • Conduct research studies that may include collecting, analyzing, trending and presenting data interruptions
  • ""
  • Develop and manage Health Plan data/analytical processes supporting TennCare CRA requirements and deliverables
  • ""
  • Design and manage EOC and PCMH strategic and operational reports
  • ""
  • Deliver analytical services in support of Health Plan initiatives and strategies
  • ""
  • Meet and collaborate with internal (e.g., Legal; Process Improvement; Finance; senior management) and/or external customers (e.g., external agencies) in order to gather report requirements and data analysis needs
  • ""
  • Present, explain, and/or interpret reports and data to internal and/or external customers (e.g., written reports; PowerPoint presentations; verbal communications)
  • ""
  • Independently conduct and manage outcomes of various studies that may include analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for quality planning and management needs
  • ""
  • Identify appropriate data sources, report metrics, and tools for providing required information according to clients' requests Identify and/or create relevant databases (e.g., fields; libraries) needed to source appropriate data-Demonstrate understanding of relevant software and databases (e.g., SQL; Excel; Access; SAS; Hyperion)
  • ""
  • Review and/or identify appropriate report format to use (e.g., existing reports; new report) based on customers' needs
  • ""
  • Create and/or update presentation documents and materials to summarize results (e.g., written reports; PowerPoint deck; graphs and/or charts) Review ad hoc reporting requests in order to determine whether a standard reporting solution can be created
  • ""
  • Data integrity among various internal groups and/or between internal and external stakeholders
  • ""
  • Lead and/or mentor associates on how to use analytical tools to promote self-sufficiency in executing reports

Required Qualifications:

    ""
  • Bachelors Degree or 3+ years of experience in Computer Science, Clinical Analysis, Clinical Operations or a related field
  • ""
  • 2+ years of healthcare analytics
  • ""
  • Experience with data analytics and process improvement methodology
  • ""
  • Advanced level problem solving capabilities needed to identify issues, and to work on solution designs related to process, technology and data
  • ""
  • Experience with report applications (i.e. Business Objects, SQL, etc.)
  • ""
  • Intermediate/Advanced level proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • ""
