Role Summary

This is a laboratory-based position within the Vaccine Research and Development - Early Bioprocess Analytical Development organization. The candidate is expected to support process and formulation development through routine testing as well as contribute to analytical assay development and qualification using standard analytical separations (RP-HPLC, SEC, IEX, and CE) and spectroscopic techniques

+ In this position, the individual will perform sample testing in support of process development, formulation development, release, stability, and characterization of vaccine candidates. This includes preparing samples, setting up and running the instruments, analyzing data and providing conclusions.

+ With guidance, the individual is expected to execute assay verification and qualification studies for assays used in the release and routine analysis of vaccine candidates.

+ Support laboratory method authoring and provide data for associated reports.

+ Support assay transfer of methods.

+ Complete notebook entries and submit for review for completed experiments in a timely manner.

+ The individual is expected to contribute and participate in general laboratory maintenance activities (such as maintenance of equipment, managing laboratory waste).

+ Where applicable, perform job responsibilities in compliance with GLP and all other regulatory agency requirements

+ Satisfactorily complete all GLP and safety training in compliance with departmental requirements and follow appropriate safety practices in the workplace

+ Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

+ BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline plus 0-2 years of related work experience required

+ Computer proficiency

+ Interpersonal, verbal and written skills

+ Ability to think critically

+ Will be required to work with BSL2 infectious viruses (e.g. Vaccinia virus, adenovirus, and influenza) and must receive and maintain required vaccinations or provide satisfactory proof of same.

+ Standard laboratory conditions - sitting, standing, primarily lab based

40 hours per week.
