International Portfolio Management, a team within Prudentials CIO Organization, is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of portfolio management for Prudentials international insurance businesses, including asset/ liability management and portfolio construction.

IPMs scope of responsibility includes wholly-owned entities in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, as well as joint ventures in Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia and China. Each business is subject to specific capital regimes, investment universes, regulatory structures, and support requirements which PII CIO addresses individually. In addition, the company relies on IPMs Investment expertise for M&A and other transactions within PII as it seeks strategic opportunities for growth.

This Newark-based position will focus on Prudentials Emerging Markets portfolio analysis and report to the Investment Senior Vice President, Emerging Markets Senior Investment Officer. The position will contribute to a team that directly supports the Chief Investment Officer, International Businesses.
Lead and coordinate with local investment teams, Finance, Actuarial, Risk Management, Investment Systems, and other stakeholders in the development of portfolio analytics and reporting capabilities.
Support country-specific Strategic and Marginal Asset Allocation modeling needs for the Emerging Market operations.
Provide support for the Emerging Market operations ensuring investment & economic assumptions embedded in product development, pricing and re-pricing efforts are aligned with CIO best practices.
Optimize and refine existing modeling tools with new datasets and external information
Develop adhoc quantitative tools to support the Portfolio Management function for the General Account and Joint Ventures, including investment plans and forecast
Create data exploration and visualization tools to uncover insights from data.
Provide quantitative skills and implementation support for new investment programs or transactions.
Act as and embedded partner to the International Portfolio Management team acting as liaison between IPM and actuarial.

Manages fixed income assets for a group of clients or a fund. Implements policies and programs approved by management and the investment committee. Assists Senior PMs with major accounts or funds. Works under the direction of management or Senior PMs. May have fixed income trading responsibility. Typically has 4 to 7 years of investment experience for BAs. Over 2 years of experience for MBAs or CFAs. Works under the direction of Senior PMs i.e. does not independently manage portfolios. Still developing and refining portfolio management skills. Includes staff whose investment decisions emphasize credit analysis and or analysis of classes of securities market trends comparable yield and duration and relationships between different fixed income sectors. This approach may involve the use of quantitative screening tools.


The ideal candidate will have five or more years of portfolio, data or investment analysis experience within a financial services organization.
Very strong analytic and quantitative skills. MBA/MS-Finance degree or candidate, and CFA charter is preferred.
Strong technical, quantitative and programming skills (experience with Python, R, Excel, Power BI, VBA, MATLAB, or C is a plus)
Knowledge of investment/asset allocation theory and fixed income mathematics.
Knowledge of insurance liabilities/actuarial skills are a plus
Experience and/or strong interest in investment markets in the US and globally.
Strong interpersonal skills, clear communication skills, team orientation, and the desire and ability to work with business partners of different national, cultural, and language backgrounds.
Bilingual proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish or Mandarin is a plus.
