The Appeals Review Unit (ARU), is part of our Group Insurance business. We are responsible for disability appeals related to Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and Waiver of Premium.


 


The Team


The ARU is made up of two teams, and this role will support one of the Long-Term Disability teams. We are a customer-focused team, and work in an ever-evolving environment where successfully managing through change is expected.  Members of this team are located throughout the US.


 


The Role


Prudentials Group Insurance, Disability Claim Operation is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Sr. Appeals Analyst.  This position is a dynamic role requiring the evaluation of Long-Term Disability Appeals.  In addition to managing a caseload of complex LTD Appeals, this position may offer the opportunity to identify trends in order to optimize the performance of the organization including providing feedback, initiating continuous improvement, and identifying training opportunities.


 


Roles & Responsibilities


 


  • Manage assigned caseload of complex Long-Term Disability appeals
  • Utilize specialty resources effectively to include internal and external clinical, vocational, and legal experts
  • Demonstrate industry leading customer service internally and externally
  • Administer and expertly apply contractual provisions
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills resulting in a well-balanced workflow
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in the development of differentiated appeals plans which lead to optimal outcomes
  • Provide direct feedback to appropriate parties as required on claim handling
  • Identify opportunities for improved claim management across the organization

Qualifications

Your Expertise


What youll need to succeed:


  • 2 to 5 years of experience in LTD disability claims

  • Prior Appeals experience preferred

  • Demonstrated superior customer service skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to collaborate and partner across departments

  • Capable of working independently to manage difficult interactions

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office


 


Itd be a plus if you have:


  • Prior LTD appeals experience

  • College Degree
