Global Initiatives and Reinsurance Financial Reporting teams Senior Actuarial Associate

Global Initiatives and Reinsurance Financial Reporting teams is looking for individuals with a strong desire to learn the big picture for a rapidly growing, strategically critical reinsurance block insured from Prus Japan operations,  learn US statutory reserve, modeling and valuation process, and use the skills to drive implementation of business-critical emerging reinsurance initiatives for Prudentials International Insurance (PII). Ideal candidates would be those eager to learn and drive the realization of the reinsurance opportunities,and ensure excellence in execution of International Valuation responsibilities.


The Senior Actuarial Associates primary responsibilities would include the following

  • Support the quarterly US Statutory Valuation, model development, testing and documentation, reserve movement analysis, creating insightful analysis with Power BI for the $23B PII PICA USD Japan reinsurance block

  • Work to streamline and improve tools to analyze and validate valuation results from actuarial modeling software

  • Collaborate and engage with key stakeholders to explain and communicate valuation results

  • Monitor and work closely with Japan teams, CAO-S and PIIs Reinsurance Officer team and various other stakeholders across the Finance and Investment community to ensure efficient on-boarding of new reinsurance transactions, repricing and new product implementation

  • Work on implementation of medium-term and long-term future system and process build initiative using various tools and actuarial techniques




Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess the following skillsets:

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, mathematics, finance, computer science or other quantitative related fields are preferred; ASA or CFA is a plus

  • Proficiency in programing skills such as Excel VBA, SQL and the R language is a significant plus

  • Experience in actuarial software modeling (GGY-AXIS, PolySystems, Prophet, ALFA and etc.) is a plus

  • A couple of years of actuarial valuation and/or financial reporting experience is preferred

  • General understanding and relevant experience with US Stat or US GAAP in Life and /or Annuity products is a plus

  • Solid analytical skills and ability to understand complex quantitative concepts and model outputs

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables
