Perspectas Civilian, State and Local segment partners with the U.S. Federal Civilian State and Local governments to provide infrastructure services, business solutions, and digital transformation services that help them achieve policy objectives and integrate citizen-centric services.


Perspecta is providing engineering, management, and operational support services to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection on a Data Center Support Services (DCSS) contract supporting the (CBP) Enterprise Data Management & Engineering (EDME) Division. EDME provides innovative Information Technology (IT) services and solutions. Vencore performs technical support services for CBP in the following principle technical areas Business Continuity Planning, Middleware Infrastructure Support, Windows Support Group, and Common Enterprise Technology Integration.

We are seeking aSecurity Assessor to support multiple systems within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The selected candidate will have a background in technology with a strong history of secure technical implementations as well as an understanding of security. Additionally, the candidate should have experience working with security compliance and associated industry / government standards. Candidate will work closely with a team of ISSOs supporting multiple systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating memos and policies for management to review
  • Review and Assist the ISSOs in updating documents as needed to be in line with current policies including but not limited to:
  • Privileged Users (Provisioning, Separation, and Recertification) SOPS
    • Vulnerability Scans SOPs
    • SPLUNK Audit Log Review SOPs
    • Patching SOPs
    • Service and Account Management SOPs
    • Separation of Duties SOPs
  • Training/Coaching EDME personnel on how to answer and provide documentation to auditors. This includes:
    • Creating training materials
    • Scheduling and providing training sessions
  • Assisting the ISSOs in gathering documentation for auditors including but not limited to documentation per system or per security control
  • Providing policy documentation and presentations as requested



  • 10+ years of experience and both a B.S. and M.S degree. Bachelor of Science (B.S.) can be substituted with an additional 4 years of related experience, and a Master of Science (M.S.) can be substituted with an additional 2 years of related experience
  • Minimum of 10 years specific experience with NIST 800-53 policies
  • Security Certification at level 2 of the 8570
  • Experience with Security Auditing
  • Experience with DHS 4300A is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and re-prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in engineering IT systems (RedHat, windows, and databases), as well as working knowledge of current technologies
  • Ability to learn an application environment to update and/or create supporting security documentation
  • Requires US Citizenship and eligibility to obtain DHS Public Trust Clearance
  • Current CPB-issued Background Investigation (BI) is preferred.
