Cisco is seeking to fill a number of positions for the role of Technical Solutions Specialist in support of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) covering the Americas. SASE is a fast-growing portion of Ciscos business which provides:

  • Customers security during their journey to the Cloud
  • Cloud Orchestration, Cloud Core, and Cloud Access

What You'll Do

The SASE Technical Solutions Specialist (TSS) is a highly customer-facing role with skills across VPN, SD-WAN and cloud-native security functions such as secure web gateways, cloud access security brokers, firewalls, and zero-trust network access.

You will conduct technical presentations set up demonstrations and explain features and benefits to customers. You will form relationships with our customers key decision-makers, positioning Cisco solutions aligned precisely to their requirements. As an advisor to the customer, you will craft architectures and configure products to meet their specific needs.

Additionally, you will need knowledge of and to keep up to date on networking and software enablement, APIs and Network Programmability. You will work with a variety of technologies and will therefore need strong cross-functional collaboration and consultative skills. The capacity to demonstrate technical solutions and capabilities effectively and conduct multi-architectural Proof-of-Concept (PoC) tests is a must.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Supporting direct sellers on opportunities
  • Understanding customer requirements and mapping technical solutions to meet the needs
  • Network design from edge to cloud
  • Securely automate cloud connectivity as customers transition to SASE
  • Network and/or Security product and solution knowledge: Product positioning, differentiation across solutions, operational characteristics, integration of multiple cross domain platforms
  • Performing product demo and scripted Proof of Concept (PoC) labs
  • Creating content, demos and labs in support of and delivering customer training events
  • Serve as a member of the SASE Center of Excellence (CoE); self-motivated, constantly learning with the mentoring/coaching from fellow peer senior TSAs
  • Willingness to travel

Who You Will Work With

The SASE TSS will work with Cisco Account Teams and Product Sales Specialists (PSS) on customer facing opportunities. Working directly with customers, the TSS will gather detailed knowledge of requirements and provide recommendations for the best products and solutions to achieve the desired business outcomes. You will also partner with the Cisco SD-WAN, Security and Meraki specialist organizations to optimize cloud connectivity and operation of SASE platforms.

Who You Are

The SASE TSS has a passion for technology and zeal for customer interaction! This is a pre-sales, technical role focused on architectural selling covering customers from all verticals and segments in the Americas. Ideal candidates have experience in one or more of the following; architecting and supporting Campus LAN/WAN environments, focus on Cloud and/or Security. You should excel in presenting technical architectures, solutions and products to key decision-makers from Managers to Directors and above. She or he should be comfortable presenting to both small and large audiences.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 1+ years of industry experience supporting customers in a pre-sales capacity with concentration around; Security, LAN/WAN, journey to the Cloud.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Have some familiarity with LAN, WAN, and & Cloud and Security (L4-L7, CASB, SSO, FWaaS, IPS, DNS Security, etc.) technologies
  • Understanding of SASE industry landscape
  • Pre-sales experience highly recommended

Desired Skills

  • Typically requires BS/BA (preferably EE/CS) or equivalent
  • Certifications a plus: CISSP, CCNP, Devnet
  • Proficiency in Cloud networking technologies, including Google GCP, AWS and MS Azure
  • Experience with cloud edge networks, for example Equinix and Megaport
