Responsibilities

Responsible for analyzing and developing wireless telecommunications capabilities for various operations. Design and build custom applications. Design, plan, establish, and optimize wireless networks. Develop wireless network infrastructures and make recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization. Provide technical assessment of requirements and definition from conception to launch. Design and validate RF link performance, quality and reliability. Use measuring and diagnostic tools to test and adjust equipment. Create manuals and support documentation. Develop software for wireless technology. Optimize existing network by adjusting radio network parameters, adding/deleting of neighbors and recommending possible solutions to hardware problems. Monitor and analyze statistical and drive test data to improve system performance indicators such as dropped calls, blocked calls, origination failures, handoff features. Apply propagation theory, cellular theory, and antenna theory to choose tower antenna placement. Responsible for capacity planning, GSM frequency planning and frequency hopping by applying carrier/interference (C/I) ratio analysis. Recommend site upgrade such as down tilling of antenna and re-orientation of radio additions. Support customers in the development, acquisition, and sustainment activities of complex RF systems used in Communications, Radar, and Electronic Warfare. Responsibilities will include the design and evaluation of up/down converters, and amplifiers, MMICs, MCMs, and TRMs. Reverse engineer legacy RF hardware systems to develop obsolesce plans, test procedures, and perform trade analysis. Conduct and develop Test & Evaluation plans for RF test stations and field test events for system/subsystem manufacturing and fleet support. Must be able develop and present technical reports. Perform modeling and simulation of RF circuits and RF propagation Experience designing radar phased array T/R module experience. Highly desired experience with Agilent ADS, ANSYS HFSS, NI LabView, and MatLab Modeling Near-Field antenna patterns. Phase noise analysis. Proficient with MS tools.

Perspecta is looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills who is a self-starter and is ready to apply their technical knowledge and problem solving skillset to contribute to program success. Perspecta is the prime System Engineering and Integration contractor for a National Communications Program and provides full lifecycle, end-to-end Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) services to a National Customer. The National Communications Programs mission focus is to provide worldwide space and ground communications services utilizing state-of-the-art communications technologies. Perspecta leads a geographically dispersed team to support the design, development, acquisition and evolution of this complex multi-segmented communications system. The INTREPID program provides transport system engineering expertise to the customer to develop new capabilities that meet user needs. The external facing activities are in a Services paradigm, while internally they are determining the acquisitions required to ensure the services are available as promised to the user community. This position will require working shoulder-to-shoulder with our customer and collaborating across the INTREPID team.

Qualifications

Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.

Applicant must have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a technical field such as Physics, Math or Astronautics and 10 years engineering experience with RF systems. Candidates with equivalent educational background and demonstrated experience will be considered. Candidates must have a proven ability to effectively work with a large team of government, FFRDC and SETA contractors as well as major developmental contractors. Applicants should be able to convey complex technical and programmatic issues concisely to senior management, and be flexible and creative problem solvers.

Must be able to receive a security clearance.
