Perspectas Civilian, State and Local segment partners with the U.S. Federal Civilian State and Local governments to provide infrastructure services, business solutions, and digital transformation services that help them achieve policy objectives and integrate citizen-centric services.


We have a need for a RF Engineer to support the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NESDIS is responsible for the procurement of new flight and ground systems and the modification of existing systems needed to operate the satellites, and to collect, process, distribute, and store satellite data for the nations civilian environmental satellite (spacecraft and sensor) program.

The selected Engineer will support NOAA on representation for Radio Frequency Spectrum committees. The role includes reviewing changes to the RF spectrum usage, and providing recommendations.

Specific activities include:

  • Provide Analysis of the Government Master File (GMF) for frequency assignments. This includes GMF analysis and reports generation, new frequency assignment proposals for NTIA submission.
  • Validation & analysis for NTIA 5-Year frequency assignment reviews.
  • Perform Frequency Assignment (FAS) subcommittee agenda review for impacts to NOAA\NESDIS frequency assignments in the GMF.
  • Perform field surveys to validate and confirm frequency assignment use for NESDIS GMF.
  • Coordinate with NOAA Frequency Assignment Subcommittee representative on changes, additions and deletions for spectrum transmit authorizations.



  • Requires a BS degree in Engineering with at least 10 years experience or MS degree and 8 years experience in the field of RF engineering.
  • Requires experience performing GMF analysis and familiarity with Government Master File (GMF)
  • Experience with NOOA / NESDIS GMF is highly desired
  • US Citizenship and eligibility for US Government Security Clearance
