Boulder Creek Academy (BCA) is a premier 40-bed residential therapeutic boarding school nestled in the beautiful Cabinet Mountains of North Idaho. We pride ourselves on developing and implementing individualized academic and emotional programming for students 13-18 years of age while also supporting families with developing and sustaining lifelong strategies for the school and home environment. The BCA mission is to empower students and families to achieve excellence in personal growth, relationships, and lifelong learning.

We currently have a full-time Night Counselor opening for a mature and dependablerole model and mentor for the followingovernight responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervision of students in a dormitory setting during sleeping hours.
  • Ensure a physically and emotionally safe sleeping environment in accordance with facilitypolicies and procedures and all licensing and certification requirements.
  • Primarily responsible for maintaining accurate count of students by conducting routine and periodic checks of sleeping quarters.
  • Supervise evening activities and movement of students.
  • Document activities/movements according to operation standards.
  • Resolve conflicts and contain inappropriate and/or unsafe behavior by following behavior management plans, setting and enforcing boundaries and limits, and maintaining adherence to agreements, according to company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and report occurrences to supervisor and other necessary staff to ensure the safety and general well-being of students and campus.
  • Manages medical and medication needs of students according to operation standards and procedures.
  • Responsible for Company and personal Service Excellence standards.

Job Requirements
  • One yearexperience working with youth and/or past night shift experience preferred, NOT REQUIRED.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age per Idaho licensing requirements.
  • Current First Aid and CPR andCrisis Intervention and Prevention training or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Must have the abilityto remain awake and alert during overnight hours (8pm - 8am).
  • General knowledge of workplace and office safety.
  • Ability to frequently walk throughout dormitories and outside area,ability to frequently climb stairsnightly to check on dorms.
  • Exposure to outside weather, either cold or hot.
  • May often lift and carry, push and pull rate as very light.
  • Stand, walk and sit at will.
  • Ability to touch, hear, see and speak corrected to normal range.
  • Ability to complete a thorough visual inspection of dorms in low light situations.
  • Ability to quickly respond in an emergency situations.
