Auto req ID: 259723BR Job Description The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is the servant leader of an Agile Release Train (ART) which consists of approximately 3-10 teams who is responsible for protecting the ART from influences or impediments which prevent the ART from accomplishing its goals. As the local expert on the Scaled Agile Framework, they embody the values, principles, mindset, and practices of SAFe to help the ART and stakeholders receive maximum benefit from the new Agile ways of working so the group of individuals can become a high performing team of teams that works as a sustainable pace. Together with the Product Manager, IT Program Manager, and System Architect, the RTE supports the work of the ART, helps with the Program backlog refinement and facilitates Program ceremonies, such as PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, PO Syncs, ART Syncs, and the Inspect & Adapt Workshop. PBNA is implementing a strategic sales transformation program to build a modern sales and service cloud platform required to support evolving digital market needs. This position will support the PBNA Sales Transformation program to build a commercial platform and integrate it to both PBNA legacy GTM systems and transition to PBNAs new SAP ERP system; directly impacting 25,000 PBNA North American Retail B&C and Foodservice field employees executing 7,000 daily selling, delivery and merchandising routes across 400+ locations in U.S & Canada. This position is responsible for understanding the redesigned business process to lead the design and technical solutions across entire GTM and back-office functions impacting PBNA 2,500 Key Account Managers 1200 FSRs 500 Telesales agents 7,000 Presales routes 7,000 delivery routes 7,000 merchandisers 400+ locations Accountabilities: Observes ARTs work and continuously searches for improvement areas to help team achieve higher level of efficiency Supports employees in implementing Agile ways of working Chief protector of the Agile Release Train (Team of Teams) from negative outside influence or situations which may interrupt the process Manages and optimizes the flow of value by ensuring backlogs, Kanbans, and metrics are properly utilized Establishes cadence (e.g. PI Planning schedule) for the Program Facilitates Program events such as sync meetings, Inspect & Adapt Workshops, and PI Planning (or similar) Drives relentless improvement Collaborates with Product Management and Product Owners to track the execution of Features Resolves or escalates impediments Manages risk and dependencies Coordinates with Scrum Masters to ensure execution excellence Guide the ART on how to get the most out of self-organization for the purpose of increasing effectiveness, quality, and customer delight Effectively influences Product Manager /Product Owner and agile teams to drive product roadmap forward Proactively identifies program-level impediments, looks for pragmatic and constructive solutions and escalates when necessary Uses creative techniques for leading the ART to solve problems Effectively shares knowledge of Agile ways of working Builds relationships considering stakeholder needs and business goals Communicates in a manner that is understandable to recipients both inside and outside of the team Can successfully influence the behavior of others without having a formal supervision Champions quality practices and DevOps Coordinates with other ARTs and enables cross-program collaboration Years of Experience: 7+ years of complex FMCG Sales and GTM software development 5+ years of delivering complex solutions Qualifications/Requirements Release Train Engineer or Advanced Scrum Master certification (RTE, PSM II/III, CSP, CTC, SPC, RTE, etc.) or equivalent relevant experience Multiple years experience as a Scrum Master or equivalent relevant experience Experience working with Agile teams and understanding Agile values, principles, and practices or equivalent relevant experience Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and manufacturing of technological processes Ability to search for new solutions to meet challenges together with the team Knowledgeable in techniques to fill in gaps in the scrum Demonstrated experience in servant leadership Ability to determine what is scrum and what is not Experience with successful Agile techniques Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills Ability to adapt to a changing environment Self-motivation and ability to stay focused in the middle of distraction Ability to utilize program-level metrics for the purpose of leading meaningful retrospection and facilitating ART improvement Knowledge of agile work management tools Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment for this role.
