Job Requirements
  1. Receives report from previous shifts and identifies special needs of assigned patients.
  2. Prioritizes nursing care according to patient needs.
  3. Performs nursing activities which promote the physical, mental and emotional well being of the patient.
  4. Orders medication as prescribed by physician.
  5. Performs nursing assessment on all new patients.
  6. Recognizes and interprets symptoms and when appropriate reports patients condition to the Charge Nurse/Director of Nursing.
  7. Performs a nursing summary on patients just prior to discharge.
  8. Keeps accurate and complete records of nursing care.
  9. When appropriate, participates in orientation of new nursing personnel.
  10. Assists in interpreting policies and procedures to patients and their families.
  11. Responds to codes as part of a team of designated nursing personnel.
  12. Participates in annual hospital mandated inservices and required education, training and competencies.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse.


  1. Associate Degree in Nursing is required with a B.S.N. preferred.
  2. A minimum of 3 years hospital based nursing experience is required. Experiencein a chemical dependency setting, detoxification unit, or behavioral health/psychiatric hospital setting is preferred.
  3. Must be licensedby the Washington State Department of Healthas a Registered Nurse (RN).
  4. Must be currently certified in CPR/BLS.
