Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Part-Time Registered Dietitian to come join their dynamic clinical team at North Hawaii Community Hospital (NHCH) Kamuela, Hawaii. A non-profit community hospital that serves more than 30,000 residents and visitors in North Hawaii, NHCH opened in May 1996 and has 35 patient beds, including an ICU and maternity services. This is a 20 hour per week position with benefits!

 

Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the ideal candidate will:

  • Be a registered Dietitian with at least 1 year of prior experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
  • Have prior experience utilizing the nutrition care process and electronic medical records charting
  • Be responsible for providing nutrition-related expertise in the interdisciplinary team management of all patients and clients
  • Accurately assess patients nutritional status, identify nutritional risk, develop plan of care and evaluate outcomes
  • Consult with physicians and other health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Be able to work well with physicians, nursing, and ancillary staff and collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently and be outcome focused
  • Have good time management skills, be a self-starter

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct basic nutrition servicesKey Duties-Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met. -Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy. -Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexo resource when necessary. -Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice. -Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree
