Sales Regional Manager - SLED - West

Cisco seeks a Regional Sales Manager with a strong background in executive-level communication, strategic solutions creation,  building customer and partner relationships, planning, and a maniacal focus on revenue. As an RM, you are involved in positioning and promoting the Customer Business & Political drivers, Partner Value proposition, leading account managers in the development and expansion of opportunities in the SLED/Public Sector community in the west, and reinforcing existing relationships within Public Sector SLED.

The role is a Strategic RSM role in that you will lead a team of client executives and account managers focused on 2 of our largest customers.  This will require a high-level of strategy, execution and people-leadership.  This is an opportunity for growth for an existing leader.  As a candidate for this role, it will be critical to understand Public Sector Procurement Policies and the appropriate application of Lobbyists, Political Consultants, Marketing and PR Resources and Public Sector buying cycles.

The ideal RM candidate possesses the following:

  • Strategic technical knowledge
  • Table stakes:  Organization; able to hold teams accountable; process for inspection and teaching AMs how to have strategic conversations, follow-through, and closure of business. 
  • Able to see around corners-planning for Horizon 1, 2, 3 opportunities
  • 10 years track record as a sales leader and mentor in a demanding and rewarding sales environment
  • Ability to lead a dispersed account team with both direct and indirect reports as well as extended team resources
  • The ideal candidate possesses strategic technical knowledge, and can succeed as a leader and mentor in a demanding and rewarding sales environment

In this RM position you will be responsible for:

  • Developing Account Plans, executing sales strategy and tactics that maximize Cisco opportunity within the West Coast Public Sector State and Local, Healthcare and Education markets (SLED)
  • Responsibility for an annual booking/revenue quota over $50+M
  • Making important resource decisions that apply both corporate and account team resources to new opportunities
  • Motivating and developing Account Managers
  • Strong leadership skills in a global teaming environment coupled with strong selling solutions to large and medium Public Sector customers.
  • Understanding a broad range of Cisco technologies required.
  • BS Degree or equivalent working experience
