Regional Director, Outpatient Services

The Regional Director of Outpatient Services will provide leadership and strategic management of Outpatient Services within the Behavioral Health Division. In collaboration with facility leadership, assesses, develops, implements and evaluates program philosophy, goals, objectives, and treatment interventions. Offers the guidance necessary for successful program development and maintenance through appropriate, organized, and program focused referral development activities.

Delivers direction and support to assure clinical competence, regulatory compliance, customer service excellence, inquiry call/referral management, increased departmental productivity and performance, efficiency of patient throughput, interdepartmental collaboration, accurate/efficient documentation and data entry, key indicator analysis, and best practice implementation.

*This role requires Extensive national travel to various UHS Behavioral Health Hospitals and Programs throughout the United States. Must be open to 80% travel, and must be located within close proximity of a major U.S. airport.

  • Provides guidance to facilities on program services, staffing, systems and development to ensure optimal operational functioning within Outpatient Services.

  • Evaluates market to ensure appropriate service line development and provide a broad vision in the development of partial hospitalization programs and the evaluation of current services offered.

  • Provides guidance to develop and meet goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to the operational needs of the programs staff and patient care.

  • Provides guidance on the coordination of resources including program development, marketing collateral, data tracking and referral development activities.

  • Ensures the implementation of appropriate systems/process of programming that strengthens the facilitys continuum of care.

  • Provides facility guidance as it pertains to developing, justifying and controlling annual budgets as it pertains to department personnel as well as the allocation and qualifications of core staffing needs.

  • Monitors and evaluates the ongoing utilization of the patient satisfaction survey, and makes recommendations on trends that need to be addressed.

  • Provides guidance on business development efforts to ensure service lines are conveyed in the community in an effective and accurate manner.

  • Educates on the importance of awareness of community and market-related activities that include knowledge of the activities of other providers, needs of local payers and the political climate related to mental health.

  • Prioritizes facility site visit schedules. Manages travel through the corporate website and completes expense reports for each site visit, per corporate policy.

  • Performs other duties as assigned/required.
Job Requirements

  • Masters Degree required, preferably in social work/mental health/behavioral sciences field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in psychiatric/mental health field required
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a lead/managerial capacity.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health TJC, CMS, Patient Rights Standards and all other State and Federal law and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Skilled in technology use, able to use Microsoft Office and Outlook for daily activities.
  • Must be open to 80% travel, and must be located within close proximity of a major U.S. airport.
  • Licensure preferred
