Dutes: Responsible for synthesizing R&D Product Development business processes across US, Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific in order to customize the R&D Systems Applications and Products system for an integrated Specifications Management solution. Responsible for designing R&D specifications requirements for raw material, formulas, manufacturing process, packaging and finished products, in a manner that an SAP out-of-the-box system could be leveraged for inter-company global applicability with minimal modifications. Ensure that R&D Global design of SAP templates is suitable to operate globally, and in compliance with food safety, quality and nutrition label legislations to safeguard the company from legal, quality and/or regulatory disputes. Partner with regional Manufacturing teams to ensure R&D is able to provide relevant information /documents to meet production needs. Understand key aspects of documentation to trace finished goods within the food industry in various markets. Translate R&D specifications needs into IT requirements and ensure IT teams deliver system architecture. Incorporate specs process and systems efficiencies. Facilitate business processes adjustments by constant evaluation of operational improvements within R&D. Create and lead global cross-functional SME teams (Product Developers, Process Engineers, Packaging, Quality, Food Safety, Regulatory, Data Management, IT) to determine feasible and viable solutions for R&D specification management. Prioritize the work for cross-functional teams, providing information regarding the spec management and enabling decision making in a timely manner. Evaluate R&D specifications design feasibility and business risk of goals provided by top management, and develop detailed plans to accomplish these goals. Influence R&D stakeholders at all levels, and manage key business relationship & reporting on project status across business owners, global R&D leaders, and end users in different countries. Stay up to date on food standards and best practices for technical documentation by reviewing relevant scientific and business literature. Hire, supervise, or evaluate engineers, technicians, researchers, or other staff across different categories, regions/ countries.

Work Schedule: 9am to 5pm, 40 hours a week.

Job Requirements: Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related and ten (10) years of experience in R&D Product Development executing and/or leading cross functional projects for the food industry OR Masters degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related and eight (8) years of experience in R&D Product Development executing and/or leading cross functional projects for the food industry. Must have eight (8) years of experience with: leading product development projects from ideation to commercialization, new idea generation, prototype development at benchtop and pilot scale and product optimization; managing end-to-end specifications for ingredient, formulas, nutrition labels, process and finished products; and applying food safety and regulatory requirements while developing new products and/or processes improvements. Must have five (5) years of experience with: working with specification systems such as Product Vision, SAP Recipe Development, or similar to document raw material, formulas information, and nutrition facts label creation; providing technical risks assessment related to product development projects; and writing executive reports regarding R&D projects progress and impact in business results and effectively communicating / presenting them to leadership. Must have three (3) years of experience influencing R&D stakeholders at all levels, and managing key business relationship to drive projects forward. Must have two (2) years of experience with: working with teams across geographies/cultures, and with different product technologies within food and/or beverages industry; managing strategic projects related to resource planning, resource allocation, and coordination of projects and people; and managing R&D Projects using methodologies, such as waterfall and SQERT, as well as software such as Accolade and Microsoft Projects. Must have one (1) year of experience with: managing direct teams of direct and indirect reports, in more than one country; and conducting analysis of R&D specification management processes and identify issues to form hypotheses and solutions, and recommend quantitative and qualitative solutions applicable across countries, includes Descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive, inferential type of analysis using mapping and categorization. Travel required 30% of the time.

Salary: $115,856 - $183,400
