Auto req ID: 247150BR Job Description Job Title: R&D Engineering Senior Manager Employer: Pepsi-Cola Technical Operations, Inc. Location: 100 East Stevens Avenue, Valhalla, NY 10595 Duties: Lead the global productivity program management by managing timelines, deliverables, and resources of all the productivity projects, and lead portfolio data analysis, including pipeline evaluation for risk adjusted savings to determine realistic savings by evaluating factors such as technology readiness, capital availability, sensory impact, and vendor availability, leveraging statistical analysis. Responsible for the development of a global productivity data scorecard, including the productivity savings for productivity projects from different geographies, productivity savings from different R&D groups such as product, packaging, and processing, and top savings projects for different geographies for all R&D projects. Present productivity savings updates on a quarterly basis to R&D leadership. Lead the process to track, manage and report global productivity savings of R&D projects through quarterly reviews with senior R&D leadership. Identify and manage production risks including project cancellations or delays to ensure that Beverages R&D delivers its productivity goals to support beverages business globally. Responsible for developing and managing global portfolio of beverage productivity programs by working with global cross-functional teams in Procurement, PepsiCo Global Concentrate business, Marketing, Operations and Engineering. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Global Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Procurement and PepsiCo Global Concentrate Services to identify projects where R&D can drive productivity and improve profitability for PepsiCo. Develop internal and external partnerships to identify long-term productivity opportunities where savings can be made by making non-conventional operational and design changes that have the potential to drive incremental productivity for PepsiCo. Work with global R&D regions to create strong engagement on productivity initiatives, develop robust pipeline of productivity savings projects and enable teams in different geographies to deliver desired productivity results. Provide continuous support to R&D teams in regions to build robust productivity data roadmap and assessment of opportunity and risk profile of the portfolio. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related and ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have the following certification: Design for Six Sigma Certification (DFSS). Must have ten (10) years of experience with: project management in process engineering, food product development or commercialization; Profit and Loss statements and parameters within Profit and Loss statement such as cost of goods, cost of distribution/serve, Operating profit, and using the information to develop cost saving opportunities; Procurement, Engineering, Operations and R&D teams to identify, scope and develop business case for productivity projects by identifying potential savings, Capital required, Budget needed and Headcount requirements; Value Engineering and Value Analysis principles such as Should-Cost Analysis, including component level cost breakdown of a system, equipment or formula, and Function Analysis to analyze the component or a system to create value by reducing cost or improving functionality of a component or system; leadership experience to identify productivity opportunities and deliver annual savings plan; sharing findings through presentations to R&D leadership. Must have three (3) years of experience with manufacturing platforms for non-alcoholic beverages, such as Carbonated Soft Drinks, Juice products, Water/Hydration products, and protein beverages. Travel required up to 15% of the time.
