Center for Change is seekingfull-time, part-timeand part-time on-call female Care Technicians to assist the clinical and nursing staff in providing secure, safe, and supportive treatment to inpatients suffering from anorexia and bulimia.

Center for Change is a 24-hour healthcare facility with both full- and part-time staff who cover regularly scheduled shifts.We currently have full-time grave,part-time day, part-time swing, part-timepositions for graveyard shifts, and part-time on-call positions. On-call Care Techsmay bescheduled for regular shifts of 8 each week and in addition will be called in to fill a variety of shifts around the clock (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM; 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM; or 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM),when other staff are ill, on vacation, or otherwise unable to fill shifts. On-call staff need to be available to have 2 on-call days per week - one week day/night and a rotation of Saturday and Sundays. As on-call staff, hours will vary from8 to32 hours per week, but on average fall in the range of 16 to 24 hours per week. This is an excellent entry-level position for individuals who would like to gain experience in the mental health field.

Responsibilities:
Care Techs work closely with patients at the Center. They provide daily support and assistance with activities of daily living and are expected to mentor healthy attitudes and behaviors. Care Techs eat meals with the patients and join them in a variety of experiential therapies such as recreation therapy, movement therapies such as Yoga and RIMBA, art therapy, music therapy, and other group therapies such as body-image and 12-step. Care Techs work directly with patients in goal setting and follow up, and are responsible to enforce program rules.

Job Requirements
  • One to two years college-level education, or 1 - 2 years experience working in the mental health field.

  • Due to the nature of treatment and the population served there is a bona fide occupational qualification that the applicant be female.

  • Care Techs are required to transport patients using company vehicles. To qualify to drive company vehicles Care Techs must consent to a driving record check, and must:
    -- be at least 20 years of age;
    -- have a valid driver license;
    -- have no more than 2 at-fault accidents in the past three (3) years;
    -- have no more than 3 moving violations during the past three (3) years; and,
    -- haveNO driving while intoxicated (DWI) or driving under the influence (DUI) convictions.

  • Staff eat meals along with the patients. The Center has dietitians who ensure that a wide variety of foods are served in nutritious and appetizing meals. Because the Center specializes in the treatment of eating disorders it is important that staff mentor healthy attitudes and behaviors about food. For this reason staff are required to eat appropriate portions of everything served with the meal. This includes all food groups: meats, poultry, fish, fruits, dairy products, etc.

Wage: Base starting wage is $12.00/ hour without Bachelors Degree; $13.00/hour with Bachelors Degree. In addition, there is shiftdifferential pay per hourfor evenings, weekends and graveyard shifts.
