Poplar Springs Hospital, a 208 bed acute care and residential facility, is located in Petersburg, Virginia, 20 minutes south of Richmond and 50 miles north of North Carolina. Situated on 25 acres, our serene, nature-like setting offers our patients a sense of calmness and peace. For more than 30 years Poplar Springs Hospital has been guided by its mission of helping those who need the full continuum of behavioral services. Our facility offers behavioral and psychological treatment for adults and adolescents through our acute programs, adolescent residential programs, as well as programs for active duty military.

The Residential Program Manager for evening shift is responsible for the overall management of the residential programs including providing supervision/training to staff, managing daily milieu; ensuring compliance with the daily program schedule, interventions, and motivators to promote residents participation in treatment. The Program manager ensures the residents individual goals and progress is documented appropriately. The Program manager oversees the behavior modification program and continuously assesses and evaluates effectiveness of the program design, revising it when necessary. The Program manager acts as the main point of contact for therapists and clinical team for program operation information and communication; attends Flash meetings daily and treatment teams weekly. The Program manager is responsible for maintaining and implementing systems and policies relating to the Milieu, Acts as the Safety Champion of the facility and ensure the safe operations, conducts weekly rounds and contraband searches. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is driven, detail oriented, and looking for growth potential. Experience in Recreational Therapy a plus and QMHP preferred.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in health care field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years supervisory experience, preferably in an inpatient psychiatric setting; experience working with males and females in a residential setting; experience working with adolescent sexual offenders helpful. If the Program Manager exercises clinical responsibility, must have education, training and experience in patient population of Program of assignment, preferably 3-5 years.
