The Product Research Analyst role be a key contributor on the Optum Genomics team and will support multiple initiatives in support of our new product development and growth strategies. This role will support a diverse set of projects and require a strong background in providing thought leadership, market research, product development and program management. This includes a focus on new product creation, customer interviewing, requirements gathering and market positioning / pricing analysis. This person must convince leaders and operators of his / her value, earn their trust and time, and work collaboratively to build actionable strategies.

The Product Research Analyst will wear various hats, including working with executive and product leadership to frame up the market, build business cases, and perform high-level analysis to promote actionable decisions to advance our portfolio of products. This role will also include: leading external discussions, project management / pilot coordination efforts, and making connections across the Optum and UHG to support broader project development and collaboration activities.

  • Lead and support cross-UHG initiatives spanning growth strategy, operational excellence and client / external party partnerships by directly scoping, initiating, creating new business cases, providing business analysis and project level support where needed

  • Analyze industry trends, customer needs, competitive threats, expansion opportunities and internal performance

  • Requirement gathering and decomposition for various stakeholder including technology. This will include establishing acceptance criteria and managing progress

  • Deliver data-driven insights to support actionable decision and prioritization for Executive management, Board, investors, company) including build/buy/partner analysis

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare product management, with the ability to point to commercialized product for reference
  • ""
  • 1+ years of program management experience; coordinating pilot activities and/or technology implementation plans
  • ""
  • Experience developing market overviews, understanding competitive positioning, analyzing market trends, and understanding customer needs
  • ""
  • Demonstrated ability to build detailed business cases, inclusive of revenue/sales forecasting
  • ""
