As part of our Optum Strategic Partnerships team, in this role you will play a significant part in supporting innovation, collaboration and growth of Artificial Intelligence infused products used to forecast and predict the spread of infectious diseases. You will play a key role in impacting public and individual health through support product(s) such as Optum FluCast, Optum COVIDCast and Optums Infectious Disease Platform. You will interact and collaborate with data scientists, business leaders and external partners in the computational epidemiology space.

  • Manage central intake process to capture demand

  • Define roadmap and timeline to achieve business outcomes and make commitments to stakeholders

  • Owner of Scrum team(s) and accountable for stories written for the Scrum team(s)""

    • Participates in product backlog grooming sessions, retrospectives, defect management, and project teams release planning sessions

    • Develops, refines, and drives estimation of user stories and acceptance criteria
    • """
    • Create / manage / prioritize and be accountable for the Capability / Feature backlog, also including defects, tasks, and dependencies
    • ""

  • ""
  • Act as a recognized voice of the customer to the engineering team, on behalf of the business""

    • Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements and provide explanations and information to others, including understanding and communicating difficult issues

  • Partner with the Senior Director, business planning and our engineering and delivery leaders to understand existing the product roadmap, product requirements and deliverables, and associated timelines. Then work with the engineering teams to ensure timely, complete, high-quality delivery of those items

Required Qualifications:

    ""
  • 5+ years of experience acting as technical product owner focused on data assets or data / analytic products with client delivery accountability
  • ""
  • 3+ years of deep healthcare data knowledge and understanding with experience across multiple assets (e.g. administrative claims, hospital billing / discharge, EMR, inventory / supplies for healthcare, etc.)
  • ""
  • 2+ years of expertise with Agile software development processes & methodologies
  • ""
  • Experience with one or more recognized Agile methodologies (Scrum, PMC, etc.) or toolsets (Rally, Jira, etc.)
  • ""
  • Experience working in highly matrixed organizations, with cross-functional teams and/or in a consultative / advisory role; natural collaborator
  • ""
  • Experience as a liaison between business and technical team, responsible for gathering, documenting, and prioritizing business requirements in support of critical needs
  • ""
  • Experience creating order thru implementing the defined roadmaps and creating a path forward despite ambiguity and complexities
  • ""
  • Experience driving and influencing decision-making with teams, management, and business stakeholders
  • ""

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600.
