Auto req ID: 220420BR Job Description Team/Project The role is part of Design Innovation within PepsiCos Design Center in NYC. The primary focus will be on the Beyond the Bottle business at PepsiCo. The goal of the BtB is to build a new business that can deliver on healthy hydration without plastic waste. Digital is playing a key role in how we accommodate and accelerate this shift. The SodaStream Professional system launched in 2020 is a connected eco-system of water dispensers that offer customized flavored water in still and sparkling. We aim to change the way hydration is delivered connecting the users with their favorite drinks, tracking their hydration and measuring their positive environmental impact. The Role Were looking for an experienced UX/UI Designer with excellent visual design skills. In this role, the Senior Product / UX Designer will be dedicated to the continued product and UI enhancement and development of a self-serve hydration kiosk and its associated digital products: mobile apps, user videos, microsites, etc. A deep understanding and interest in not just the digital but also the physical interaction is key. The digital solutions we create are in service of a seamless experience between the user and the equipment (fountain, vending machine etc). Responsibilities include UX design and process iteration, research, low and high-fidelity wireframes, UI, visual, icon design, etc. The work is a mix of execution and leading design agencies. The User Experience Designer also seeks to understand the user behavior and motivation at a fundamental level by working with the insights and through the development of journey maps, user personas, and other artifacts. This role is focused on designing user experience and information for new features (from an overall product strategy and roadmap) defined by the Product Manager. The User Experience Designer must think in non-linear terms: capturing interactions, edge-cases, and the various states of these experiences through deliverables such as user flows, product maps, wireframes, storyboards, and prototypes. They should be comfortable with an agile approach to design, with an emphasis on user testing and rapid iteration. Responsibilities: Be comfortable owning the design process from start to finish. Working with internal and external stakeholders such as Marketing, PepsiCo IT, Agencies and Manufacturers. Your day to day will include conceptualizing new and updated workflows, generating concepts, creating visual designs, prototyping, and writing specifications. Tracking design changes and maintaining a high level of quality in the finished product. Be an expert communicator who evangelizes design and embraces feedback: You will be in close contact with other designers, product leads, researchers, and engineers. So, you should embrace being transparent and honest! The UX/UI function is new within the design team and the role will be a key partner in leading the function across other design innovation projects and PepsiCo needs. Qualifications/Requirements Qualifications: 6+ years as a User Experience Designer, creating excellent experiences that delight the customer. High degree of creativity and problem solving. Ability to think and design holistically to create a cohesive and coherent product experience. Exceptional understanding of fundamental design principles. Strong conceptual, visual and analytical skills. Proven leadership, organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in UX Design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks) or similar tools to create user interfaces. Exceptional design velocity: especially in developing wireframe and flow variations. And an ability and willingness to quickly produce multiple concepts. Excellent communication and organization skills. And can produce clear and descriptive documentation for implementation targeted to a variety of roles and personality types: Experience working closely with engineers, product managers, and visual UI designers. Understands interaction design fundamentals and UI design best practices (for collaboration with the UI designer.) Understands what is possible in modern Android, iOS, and web development; and the design and interaction patterns and trends within each. Has experience conducting and coordinating remote- and in-person user research using a variety of methodologies, and documenting the results and findings. Has experience using prototyping and user testing practices to understand usability of concepts and to learn and iterate on the UX design. Relentless attention to detail and to consistency. Ability to collaborate with the larger team internally and externally. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, or related field.Preferred: Experience designing consumer-facing products. Experience with convergent physical and digital design projects. Experience creating interactive prototypes using HTML/CSS, Figma, Framer, or other prototyping tools.
