Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience
  • 7 years of IT experience
  • Experience in collaborating with teams of security or privacy analysts and key stakeholders
  • Detailed knowledge and familiarity with health security and privacy subjects.
  • Thorough knowledge of privacy development principles, concepts, policy, and regulations.
  • Ability to identify, report, and propose solutions to potential challenges to meeting compliance with federal regulations and policies
  • Skilled in producing high-quality findings in clear and concise narrative or graphic reports
  • Familiarity with client specific solution components, such as Defense Medical Logistics Standard Solution (DMLSS), Military Health Services (MHS) GENESIS, LogiCole, Cerner Millennium and/or InterSystems (HealthConnect/IRIS/HealthShare), would be helpful

Education/Certifications/Clearance:
  • Bachelors degree (or 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
  • HCISPP HealthCare Information Security & Privacy Practitioner
  • Must be able to achieve a moderate (Tier 2) VA position of trust.

Responsibilities

This role will serve as part of the team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) with the implementation, integration and sustainment of a fully integrated supply chain solution that provides the full spectrum of medical logistics. The Supply Chain delivers clinical care to Veterans by managing the logistics and flow of supplies and equipment. Supply Chain Management (SCM) ensures that the right equipment and supplies are available when needed, and the Supply Chain Management Product Line (SCM PL) encompasses the activities to procure resources, manage supplies, and deliver goods and services to providers and patients.

This team will be focused on implementing a scalable to support accelerated site deployment, while at the same time supporting integration with additional VA systems and sustainment of current integrations.

The team will have a blend of specific expertise and experience in SAFe Agile, Product Management, Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps), engineering, and Data Migration.

The Privacy Lead will serve a pivotal role working to ensure health privacy compliance by designing architectures, tools, and processes benefiting a comprehensive information technology privacy program for this effort. The Privacy Lead will serve as a Health Privacy subject matter expert responsible for overseeing tasking for team resources, taking in critical tasking, and delegating work, developing high quality deliverables and project presentations for leadership.

Responsibilities:
  • Understands and ensures compliance with federal privacy laws and privacy related VA policies, such as the Privacy Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), and related directives and handbooks. These laws and Agency guidance help Privacy Officers protect the PII maintained by VA.
  • Responsibilities for integrating IT security and HIPAA compliance with the organizations business strategies and requirements.
  • Responsibilities for addressing issues related to access controls, business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response.
  • Responsibilities for organizational security awareness, including staff training in collaboration with the HIPAA Privacy Officer.
  • Responsibilities for conducting risk assessments and audits especially with regard to Business Associates and other third parties.
  • Responsibilities for investigating data breaches and implementing measures for their future prevention and/or containment.

Colorado Salary Minimum: $77,916.80 Colorado Salary Maximum:$166,566.40 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
