Required Skills and Qualifications:

    J.D. or LLM with excellent academic credentials. You are a licensed attorney in good standing in one or more jurisdictions where Cisco does business.
    5+ years of relevant legal, in-house, and/or law firm experience. Prior in-house experience with a public company is preferred, but we will consider a candidate with demonstrated experience working with technology companies on privacy, security, and data issues.
    Deep subject matter knowledge on privacy, data, and security standards and regulations globally.
    Industry recognized privacy and/or security certifications are a plus (eg, CIPP/Europe, CISM, CDPSE, etc.)



Primary responsibilities will include:


    Serve as a legal expert and resource on global privacy and data related regulations, with a particular focus on how they impact our European business.
    Counsel your legal colleagues, product engineering, go-to-market teams, and other business teams on existing law and in preparation for emerging legal regimes, new legislation, and compliance frameworks.
    Assist with responses to regulatory inquiries and investigations, incident/breach response, and escalated data subject requests.
    Provide legal advice and day-to-day support to legal colleagues and business stakeholders on privacy, security, and data related matters.
    (including data sovereignty, data residency/localization, data architecture and flows).
    Partner with Product Legal to guide privacy-forward product development and evaluate the impact of existing and upcoming privacy, security, and data related laws, rules, and regulations on product development, features, and functionality.
    Advance Ciscos commitment to developing sustainable, scalable, and ethical approaches to complex privacy, security, and data issues.
