**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**

Pfizer's Cancer Vaccines and Immunotherapeutics department is developing state-of-the-art immunotherapy regimens that will benefit cancer patients. This Principal Scientist position will join a highly skilled and dedicated team to apply expertise to advancing from preclinical research through early clinical development.



Specific responsibilities include:



+ Serving as a Research Leader on one or more CD3 bispecific antibody programs

+ Apply scientific expertise in tumor immunology, antibody drug development, and relevant experimental and technical areas to advance programs, including designing and performing experiments to assess target validity, lead antibody performance, drug mechanism of action, disease selection, biomarker identification, etc. This includes molecular, cellular (in vitro), and in vivo approaches

+ Work effectively with cross-functional teams, providing specialized knowledge and influence to maximize program speed and success

+ Contribute expertise in tumor immunology to other Cancer Vaccines and Immunotherapeutics programs to aid development and advancement of the portfolio

+ Provide ideas and perform research to identify new opportunities to develop immune-mediated therapeutics

+ Directly manage a team of 1-3 experimental scientists, maximizing employee productivity, engagement, and professional development

+ Strengthen department's overall immune-oncology capabilities and expertise, for example by expanding immunophenotyping assays and implementing new methods and technologies

+ Contribute to preparation of drug development and regulatory documents (e.g., IND submissions), being responsible for preclinical biology components

+ Effectively communicate strategy, methodology, progress, and challenges to multiple stakeholders and partners, including senior executives and governance committees

+ Represent Pfizer at external conferences and scientific events and publish results in high quality scientific journals

+ Lead or participate in collaboration with external academic and industry partners to advance programs and develop new ones.



**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Ph.D. in oncology, immunology, or other related fields

+ At least 5 years of post-Ph.D. experience in the area of antibody drug discovery and development for the treatment of cancer

+ Demonstrated productivity working as part of cross-functional team



**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Expertise in T cell biology and tumor immunology, including various murine models of cancer

+ Experience in therapeutic antibody drug development

+ A strong record of achievement, including advancement of cancer drug projects and/or publications in leading journals.

+ Outstanding communication and ability to both influence and motivate others.



**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**



+ Required to work with BSL2 infectious viruses (e.g., Vaccinia and adenovirus) and must receive and maintain required vaccinations or provide satisfactory proof of same.
