Northrop Grumman, Propulsion Systems, is currently seeking an experienced **Process Engineer** for a dual role position. Role one is to lead our **Propulsion Systems Division Contamination Control Team** and role two is to **provide energetic safety and regulatory compliance** support for our Test and Research Operations value stream organization located in Promontory Utah.

This job requires a dynamic, highly motivated people person that enjoys getting out on the production floor, making new contacts, and assisting our Operations groups in all Propulsion Systems Divisions facilities from Florida to Utah.

**Role description:**

Work with a broad spectrum of customers from Individual Contributors to consultants outside of Northrop Grumman to help bring value to the company through cost and risk reduction efforts involving contamination control and energetic process regulatory compliance. Successful candidate will need to come to speed quickly, providing technical support for numerous production and developmental programs.

**Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**

**Contamination Control Role**

+ Chairs the Central Contamination Control Team (CCCT) and drives contamination control initiatives at Promontory, Bacchus, KSC, and the Clearfield campuses
+ Build, support, and partner with a diverse team to ensure contamination issues are minimized, lessons learned are shared, and product rework / loss continuously trends downward.
+ Continuously improve the Contamination Control Training class and associated command media for Propulsion Systems Division.
+ Create/update program contamination control plans
+ Organize and conduct contamination control audits as required
+ Prepare and present technical documentation supporting numerous and varied reviews and meetings attended by a broad scope of peers and stake-holders, including senior management and customers.
+ Develop documentation packages; accomplish trending analyses, educate and/or train other engineers and technicians on new lessons learned

**Energetic Safety/Regulatory Compliance Role**

+ Assist the TRO Value Stream with general safety and regulatory compliance pertaining to a broad scope of energetics including rocket propellants, flare formulations, air-bag formulations, and various explosive compounds.
+ Review and approve EMS Chemical Inventory Energetic Storage Plans.
+ Support the Energetic Safety Officer and Team.


+ Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics required with 5 years of experience (T03)
+ MS with 3 years of experience, or
+ PhD with 0 years of experience.

**Position may be filled at a higher level requiring:**

+ Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics required with 9 years of experience (T04)
+ MS with 7 years of experience, or
+ PhD with 4 years of experience.

**Ability to obtain a Security Clearance is required**

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Comfortable supporting a broad range of working environments, from developmental lab through production scale.
+ Familiar with energetic safety requirements found in DoD 4145.26M, HOPS, ATF, and various other associated company commend media involving energetic safety.
+ General technical familiarity with solid fuel rocket, flare, air-bag, and explosive chemical formulations.

+ Desire to work directly with flight hardware, develop and improve manufacturing/test processes. Work place will include areas where explosives, chemicals, and hazardous operations may be encountered.
+ Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment as part of a multi-discipline team.
+ Responsive and follows-through in a timely fashion on all inquiries. Multi-tasker --- can handle working multiple projects at one time. Creative and open minded to new materials, processes, etc.
+ Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and organize/prioritize job assignments and tasks.
+ Provide creative yet practical technical solutions to material and process contamination control issues. Drive for efficiency and conscientious of cost, schedule, and scope.
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical information including hazards and mitigation plans to all organizational levels in written and oral formats.
+ Able to see how the system works (big picture) while working on individual components (details).

Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00Salary Range 2: $108,600.00 - $163,000.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
