This position involves working in the Mobility Core and Access Network Services group as part of the CTO organization. This individual will be responsible for the development and integration into production of High Level and Detail Architectures for Voicemail, supporting the migration and life cycle needs of this service in a Cloud environment as well as supporting incidental lab infrastructure.


In this role, the individual will maintain the following daily duties as key responsibilities:


+ Work closely with key partners and strategic organizations to gather, analyze and translate business requirement as well as current system constraints to lead the overall architecture planning and road mapping of projects providing messaging services.

+ Work closely with Global Technical Planning as well as Engineering, Operations, and ATS teams to ensure conformance with corporate direction and industry trends as well as the requirements and standards for the performance, scalability, and evolution of messaging services are maintained.

+ Provide strategic level direction for voicemail architecture.

+ Gather, analyze and translate business requirements for new product impacts, provide architectural impacts for these new products, provide testing strategy, plan and support for new architecture.

+ Achievement of strategic mobility messaging initiatives.

+ Make new product, technology and standards selection.

+ Researches, evaluates and selects hardware and software vendors for voicemail with Cloud facing emphasis.

+ Analysis to involve detail IP networking design involving key cloud initiatives, as well as accommodating critical CSO security and Operational management requirements.


Role includes as needed, related lab verification, simulation, and automation of end to end systems. Creation of strategic lab test plans, implementation guides, and test results to share with the engineering teams required. Work with the Product Realization; GTP, CSO, and Operations teams to ensure conformance with corporate direction and industry trends as well as the requirements and standards for the performance, scalability, and evolution of messaging services are maintained.


**Required Qualifications**


+ Candidate shall have a PhD in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

+ 5 or more years experience with cloud-based networks, network protocols, and IP networks and at least seven years of platform deployment experience through all phases of the software development lifecycle

+ A strong understanding of security technology in the areas of VPN, firewalls, proxy, and IDS/IPS as well as experience in Linux

+ Candidate must have a strong communication skills both verbally and written as well as strong problem solving skills.

+ Ability to balance and prioritize work and work independently and as part of a team.

+ Previous experience in a lab test environment


**Desired Qualifications.**


+ CCIE certification

+ Experience with the following software tools: Python, Java, JavaScript, Linux, Linux Shell Scripts, Ansible, Radius and Active Directory is desirable

+ Experience with VMWare, vSphere, Log insight, Grafana, InfluxDB, and Prometheus

+ Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments including Terraform

+ Experience with Cloud based concepts, Openstack including HEAT Templates.

+ Experience with EMC Storage Area Networks including VNX and XtremIO

+ Hands-on network configuration (preferably Cisco) experience

+ Network and Hardware support experience

+ Understanding of Internet security threats and mitigation techniques
