The Principal Architect, Customer Experience (CX) Product Management, for the Cross-Domain business has overall responsibility for defining and supporting development of a world-class and competitively differentiated services strategy, automation & analytics product platforming, use case alignment and customer validation across cross-architecture offers, in support of Ciscos over-arching strategic direction.

The CX Product Management team is the central team that is driving the transformation & digitization of CX Product portfolio. What you'll do

The Principal Architect - Automation is a core member of architecture team, and a key thought leader of the CX Engineering senior leadership team. Working with customers, partners and product managers you will provide detailed technical information that will enables CX Engineering to deliver extraordinary, highly scalable and customizable network as a service platform to enable our customers to drive consume Cisco offerings in a consumption model. You will work with customers and channel partners, develop and deliver technical training for Systems Engineers, and document useful technical notes for others to use. You must also be a self-starter, keen to learn and experiment with new technologies, be able to work independently and as a team player, identify sales needs and address them as needed. The job requires some travel.

Primary Responsibilities include:

        Create and deliver technical content that informs the field and our customers of new features, including tech notes, solution guides, white papers etc.

        Develop and deliver competitive positioning strategies and answer specific questions relative to product area

        As the subject matter expert, build relationships and help customers, channel partners, and System Engineers with product related questions and hands on technical training

        Provide guidance and example code to partners and customers on how they can leverage our SDK

        Drive success of beta-customer trials by assisting the customers with understanding and configuring new product capabilities

        Continues monitoring the performance of new releases after they are generally available.

        Work closely with Product Management on product feedback for future improvements. Review and Create PRDs and Review engineering specs and provide feedback

  • Develops insights from key customer and competitive trends, challenges and needs, and translates that into a competitive service portfolio that delivers genuine business outcomes, value and differentiation to our customers
  • Maintains a detailed understanding of the competitive landscape including new players, acquisition activities, new product and services launches, etc.; ensures this knowledge is packaged for consumption by delivery leadership and any recommended portfolio adjustments are clearly outlined
  • Collaborates with marketing and PR, ensuring a complete set of collateral is in place and of high quality for all core cross-domain offers
  • Ensures effective interlock with regional and delivery management, and CX Operations, supporting methodology development, training, and all activities required to drive revenue
  • Defines innovation initiatives, to support overall portfolio management, including defining the minimum viable services package required for market trials

        Help the sales team achieve success of customer trials by assisting with understanding and configuring the product to the best use of its capabilities

  • Effectively manages field stakeholder interlocks, to ensure key priorities are understood and regional priorities are accommodated in a transparent and organized manner
  • Maintains full alignment on the roadmap, priorities and related network as a service offer and platform development across multiple business units in alignment with the Architecture leaders and act as a key partner to the broader business ecosystem
  • Partners with Global Services Management to hand-off offers and capability that have completed initial incubation and are ready for scaling

Who you'll work with

Residing in the CX Product Management organization, you will work with peer teams within the CX PM, CX Engg, CTO Office and User Experience Design organization to architect, develop and deliver best in class SaaS to our customers. Every day and every interaction will be unique, but you will likely engage with a diverse representation of engineers, product owners, product managers, business units, IT and CX leadership.

Who you are

Required Skills/Experience

        Ability to present and speak publicly.

        Strong desire to experiment with new technologies

        Demonstrable experience in setting up large scale lab environments for demo and training purposes

        Must have prior experience delivering technical product training, producing technical collateral, and presenting to customers

        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

        Network Automation experience desired

        Application Performance Monitoring expertise Response time metrics, Application identification.

  • Very strong technical leadership skills coupled with a passion for empowering and driving excellence in teams

        Demonstrable skills in scripting and automation (Python, Puppet/Chef/Ansible).

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage, interface and influence engineering partners.

        Sales/support or other non-marketing customer-facing experience highly desirable

        Software platforms and API platform experience is a plus.

  • One of more Cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure

        Experience with cloud delivered services a plus

        Experience working with large channel partners and MSPs is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of architectural principles for SaaS based capabilities; eco-system for co-innovation is a plus

        Advanced data visualization skills using any technology is a plus.
