**Overall Purpose** : This 5G Center of Excellence position is responsible for serving as a subject matter technical expert on AT&Ts 5G, MEC, Private Cellular, ANE, and other relevant next gen solutions. The position will assist COE leads, sellers, and other stakeholders with deep technical sales solutioning, rationalization of technical requirements with labs and/or product, will ensure customer implementations align to needs, and will drive/build optimal design in complex/technical solution architectures. The position will work across internal technical and product organizations to ensure delivered solutions and implementations match customer needs while ensuring contextual technical roadmap and process alignment.


**Key Roles and Responsibilities** :


+ Designs and develops solutions that assist customers in managing major business processes with an expert, hands on knowledge in 5G, LTE, Cellular, RAN, spectrum, convergence, Edge, Edge applications, Evolved Packet Core, Next Gen Core, MEC, 3GPP, ETSI and other relevant next generation topics

+ Demonstrates advanced knowledge of one or more industries, trends, and solutions especially including the cellular, private cellular, and cellular edge space

+ Collaborates and confers with the customer in the strategic design process and translates business needs into technical system solutions end to end with a particular focus toward private cellular, 5G, LTE, and edge

+ Directly assists customers in the development of fully integrated systems including processors, peripherals, communications, operating systems, devices, cellular LAN to legacy LAN, mobile security, and applications software

+ Demonstrates technical expertise in hardware capabilities, software requirements, and systems integration as well as ability to build end to end architectures bridging from cellular to legacy networks in line with customer requirements and AT&T parameters

+ Determines the availability and viability of third-party components and services as needed in conjunction with product and labs roadmaps as it pertains to 5G, private cellular and other relevant technologies

+ Validates third party, API, and components comply with established architecture for customer and AT&T

+ Develops and design specifications for products and technologies in line with comprehensive view of multiple customer opportunities

+ Designs quality control and test procedures to ensure the deliverables meet established design and performance goals in line with delivery teams

+ Develops and validates processes in next gen technology to ensure proper handoff and support

+ Delivers thought leadership content in the form of white papers or other content

+ Builds and validates design proposals to meet the customers needs

+ Identifies, analyzes, and evaluates alternative design solutions while assisting product in technical roadmap rationalization

+ Approves integrated systems design proposals for technical content

+ Monitors the implementation for technical correctness to ensure the customer needs are met

+ Creates recommendations and implements new methods, techniques, and/or procedures


At least 50% of this candidates time will be spent performing duties directly related to making sales away from their offices at a customers place of business or home in direct partnership with their 5G COE partners. The remaining time will be spent internally facing ensuring next generation technology roadmap is translated to optimal AT&T solutions vision.


**Duties directly related to making sales includes:** Meeting with customers and engaging in sales activities with COE partners at the customers site; communicating with customers via phone, teleconference, e-mail, etc. related to proposed solutions/sales, etc.; traveling to and from the customers premise for the purpose of engaging in sales activities; providing subject matter expertise regarding technical issues relating to sales; advising customers on suitability of products based on technical needs; preparing proposals, presentations, or bids, including developing pricing, developing strategic plans related to the customer and the proposed solutions/sales; researching and developing customer solutions with AT&T external partners, including design and engineering; and researching customer business and industry to identify new sales opportunities.


Lastly, a strong ability and desire to challenge the current state with data at all levels to demonstrate where AT&T can and will lead.


**Education** : A Bachelors Degree or higher in a Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant technical degree is preferred.


**Experience** : Typically requires a minimum of twelve plus years of direct technical and cellular work experience.


**Supervisory** : No.
