Under the supervision of the Regional Manager, PSU Operations or Sr Director, PSU Operations, the supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the daily operations of the central business office for the enterprise Practice Support Unit. Oversight of the PSU Central Business Office includes accountability for work produced by the logistical support staff which includes all auditing and downstream reporting of all PSU and vendor activities in multiple markets. This supervisor will also oversee the staff responsible for sourcing and fulfilling requests from multiple markets as it related to specific patient engagement mailings used to increase Quality and Risk Adjustment performance. This position and manages between 3 to 7 employees.

Primary Responsibilities:

    ""
  • Responsible for the direct oversight and supervision of PSU CBO team members.
  • ""
  • Assists with the hiring and training of new staff as needed.
  • ""
  • Accountable for the processing and auditing work produced and reported by the PSU Central Business Office to internal and external customers.
  • ""
  • Ensures priorities are set appropriately with direct reports to ensure overall CBO work is completed timely and accurately.
  • ""
  • Oversees work completion by CBO meets generally acceptable performance levels.
  • ""
  • Develops action plans to ensure task completion meets the needs of the individual market and Enterprise PSU leadership.
  • ""
  • Performs daily oversight and coordination of the PSU resource request queues to meet established performance metrics.
  • ""
  • Responsible for supervising all aspects of the PSU and vendor auditing inventory and coordination.
  • ""
  • Provides administrative and leadership support to the PSU market operations team as needed.
  • ""
  • Identifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment guided by PSU standard operating procedures.
  • ""
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for all CBO activities/tasks.
  • ""
  • Serves as a primary point of contact and provides explanations for members, providers, and health plans regarding authorization correspondence and appeal coordination.
  • ""
  • Identifies appropriate resources to respond to various tasks including mailings, calls, fax, electronic messages, and returned mail.
  • ""
  • Ability to complete work with established procedures and demonstrates proactive solutions to non-standard or complex requests.
  • ""
  • Applies a team approach to solve complex problems.
  • ""
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion.
  • ""
  • Coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
  • ""
  • Applies employee performance management techniques through job-related coaching, training and development activities.
  • ""
  • Conducts routine audits on auditing and patient engagement campaigns to ensure adherence to PSU SOPs.
  • ""
  • Responsible for approving PSU CBO daily, weekly and monthly activity reports.
  • ""
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
  • ""
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity
  • ""
  • 1+ years of managed care experience in Quality, HEDIS/STAR, or clinical operations or healthcare experience
  • ""
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, basic Excel and basic PowerPoint.
  • ""
  • This is an onsite office position in Houston, TX
  • ""
  • This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease.

  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location.
  • ""
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.
